It's cheaper than the cutter kits, it's already assembled, and it has better quality components. I pay for name brand, but with the Timber kits, you actually pay less for better name brands than other place's kits, and they do all the assembly for you.

I'm not a shill for the company, but I don't understand why this isn't getting a LOT more attention around these parts.

Here's my 3x2x3 for the veg tent, which I completed today amidst neighborhood power outages and other shenanigans:

Diy is easy with those pin sinks. I think the main thing is knowing what you got under the hood kinda thing vs hype or bs. Plain and simple that's how it should be.

Hey @RainDan ,question. I see you have 4 hex screws around the cob holders that the wires are wrapped around. Is that their purpose? Or is there something else?

Hi @Airwalker16,

The four screws are for mounting to your frame. We just wrap the wires around them for shipping purposes. You can utilize 2 or 4 - we drill and tap for four to try and accommodate as many different frame options as possible.

Of note - we have pushed the holes out closer to the edge of each heatsink for mounting - this will also be reflected in updated pictures that should hit the site shortly.

To those who have ordered within the last few days, you will see this change reflected in your kit - should make mounting much easier.

If you have any other questions, I am happy to answer them.

Have a great day.

Best Regards,
Dan

I was going to say, the holes are way to close to the holder to be of any real use for mounting. Being further out will help immensely.

They're not too close to be of use. I did just fine in mounting my 20 cobs on 1/8" thick AL angle. They work as is, but I did provide Dan that feedback that they were too close, so I'm glad they've been moved out a little bit. That's good customer service.

You do have to be precise, but I literally made initial measurements on a heavy piece of paper and used that to measure from the radiused interior of the bracket, i.e. not very precise at all. Still came up within a mm on most, and it was fine.

So...
A newbie question. (my apologies)

Defusers over reflectors?
The defuser removes hot spots?
Are hot spots an issue with Cree CXB 3950 cobs?

You can't use diffusers without the reflectors, because I think they pop into the reflector. Diffusers remove hotspots to some degree, and I guess supposedly mimic the diffusion of light in nature from clouds, leaves, shadows, etc. Mostly, for me, they will protect the surface of the cobs without losing too many photons.

Hotspots aren't really an issue without reflectors/lenses. They can be an issue, in some cases, with reflectors/lenses if too close to the tops of the plants, or the cobs are spaced too close. Keep your cobs spaced apart properly, and no closer than 18" (possibly 24" @ 1400ma or higher) from the tops of your plants, and you should be fine in most cases. I'm no expert; I just read a lot.

There is plenty of head room in the tent. A Gorilla grow 2x2.5 with the extra high roof, 7 feet.

I have 2 tents: 1 Gorilla Grow and 1 Secret Jardin 3x3x6. I MUCH prefer the Jardin. It opens with 1 zipper, the GG takes 5 zippers to open it up and close it, a BIG difference.

Got the reflectors, but not the defusers. The thinking was..."I don't want defuse light, I want intense light".
