DIY Grow Room Comments and Criticism Welcome

Hello,

I'm brainstorming for a grow room currently and have the frame built so far (it is goign to be a room inside a room). This is my design:

I calculated that with two air-cooled (via exhaust) 600w HPS lights in a 8x6x8 room would need around 180CFM exhaust fan to change the air once every three minutes.

[Formula: CFM + CFM x 20% (lights) + CFM x 20% (carbon filter)

8x6x8 = 384
384/3= 128CFM

128 + 128 x 20% + 128 x 20%
= 179.2 CFM]

The fan I have is a 1070CFM fan (overkill I know) but I have a fan controller for it. I also have a matching carbon filter (the ring that you attach to the exhaust has a 9 3/4'' diameter, strange, I know).

My intake fan is 170CFM. Because I've read that exhaust needs to exceed intake, I figure I can gauge the exhaust to be slightly above 170CFM (180CFM like I need) to be adequate for the room.

Fresh air comes in from the room (as it is in another room) and the exhaust will vent into my attic.

The frame is built of wood and I plan on lining the room with black and white poly. Does anyone think that an additional layer of black plastic sheeting on the outside of the frame (and adding poly on the inside) would be more effective at keeping out pests/keeping light in/ being better for ventilation?

Comments and criticism are desired! Thanks.

wow this looks awesome. im not sure about putting the black and white poly on the outside. seems like overkill to me. this already looks perfect. +Rep
