What area are you wanting to cover?

1 Board will produce 377 watts on full blast but will require a heatsink.
Probably run them around 300 watts rather than full blast

I'd get 2 x 320 kits. Then when/if I'm satisfied they do the business, I'd purchase another 2 boards and heatsinks, no need for more drivers and hook them up in parallel to original drivers for a nice bump in efficiency with twice the amount of leds.
Lots of options.
I'm just experimenting to eventually get a blanket of even light with 1000s of leds.
9 qb304 over a 4x4 at 700ma each give nice even 1000ppfd at around 12"

Just wondering if you would do a parts list on what you put together. It looks impressive.
I was also wondering if you had happen to know of any smaller boards they might have available. I'm growing in a 3 x 3 so the boards could not be any bigger than 750 mm long.
Thanks for the great work .

I believe you mean 'better option'.... rather than more reliable
I don't think there'd be much difference, only 2 x hlg 320s are slightly cheaper than 1 x hlg 600 and you'd only need 1 plug on a.c. side - that's if you're sourcing the drivers separately.
Also 2 x hlg 320 drivers means you can have 2 separate lights for 2 different grow areas.
Maybe others could chip in with their thoughts on 2 drivers v 1 driver setup.

Hlg 320 is my biggest driver, I prefer smaller lights that I can drop in when needed but that's just me :bigjoint:
Another difference to consider is that the HLG-320 is available in CC versions while the HLG-600 is only available in CV.

They say they make different size boards halfway down the link.

If you contact them they'll make you whatever they want......:bigjoint:

@Ryante55 got some boards made 6" x 16" ones so maybe he could point you in the right direction for genuine lm561c
@VegasWinner made some too.

The lights have been on 5.5 hours now and I took more back of board readings.

Canopy temperature is 25.2°c

Max temp at canopy today 28.0°c

I'm happy with temps on boards after 5.5 hours .

If your trying to save money don't have them custom made you have to pay for the engineer to draw the plans and for the mold or whatever for the boards and shipping is a bitch it's cost effective if you get like 100 boards or more. My first boards that are samples are cool but i will have them modified before placing a larger order.

This is for a 4x4 and I am trying to replace my 600hps during the summer months and maybe complement during the winter months. I am still reading up, but I am thinking about going with a 4k spectrum.

I like the idea of 2 320s and then adding boards, but why not add additional drivers with them?

Lower current per board so increased light per watt at a certain point your really just losing penetration for a small light increase sweet spot Imo is 100w per quantum board

Any idea on cost, ballpark?

Can you buy boards from the 1st post in this thread as singles, still?

Soon the walls and whole ceiling will be covered at this rate!

I placed an order for 4 of these, for covering 2 x 1m2 trays. If i remember right the cost was about 80 per board, plus 130ish for shipping (dhl) and handling. On top of this theres customs, which im unsure of how much it will be.
Dhl does the handling and around here they have a bad name on it for charging extra fees and including shipping cost in the customs cost.
They will be compared to the Led 342 boards from the boards from europe thread: 2x342 s6 diodes against 800 s? Diodes in one package.

What is CC/CV and why should I go with one over the other?
Constant Current and Constant voltage drivers.
"Constant current LED drivers are designed for a designated range of output voltages and a fixed output current (mA). LEDs that are rated to operate on a constant current driver require a designated supply of current usually specified in milliamps (mA) or amps (A). These drivers vary the voltage along an electronic circuit which allows current to remain constant throughout the LED system."

"Constant voltage drivers are designed for a single direct current (DC) output voltage. Most common constant voltage drivers (or Power Supplies) are 12VDC or 24VDC. An LED light that is rated for constant voltage usually specifies the amount of input voltage it needs to operate correctly."

How much power for that temp?
I think it's 250 watts, so 125 watts per board.
I should get meters back shortly so I'll give an exact reading soon.
Last par map I done was at 250 watts and I don't think I changed it.
I put in another 2 plants, CBD Critical Mass and my area has now grown to 4ft x 5ft.ish
I put another 50 watts of Growgreen Board.

900 directly under the lights? Or across a 4x4?
The area the of lights has grown to 5' x 4' ish now as I dropped 2 x CBD Critical Mass plants into the mix.
I'l check later when lights comes on.
I'l turn off the satellite lights surrounding the FOTOP Boards and take some more readings but I'm happy with the setup so far.
