DIY CFL light set up

Just finished building my light set up. It was easy and only took about an hour to do. Instead of hardwire I used power strips and build a custom light box to house them in. the box is 21"x16"x5". It will house 8 lights. here are some pix that explain how it was done!! Q- do I need to add a few 6500k bulbs in with the 2700K flowering bulbs? I have read conflicking reports on this.

They are surge protectors. they are also pluged into a GFCI outlet. I know Mylar would have been better but didnt feel like shelling out 25.00 plus shipping just yet for it. I will swap it out at some point.

Daisy chaining surge protectors is a pretty bad idea, you should avoid doing that. You should be alright though

I thought about that too but the load isnt that great so I figured I would be ok. If it seems wrong ill add another to it I have a ton of them hanging around

KaleoXxX, I will stop by walmart in the morning and check it out. Didnt think the shinepaper would be safe seeing that it was paper, but maybe thats just me being paranoid again!! Thanks for the input my friends!!

Well, it depends..if your flowering, sure a few 6500k lights wont hurt, I've heard it can be beneficial. If your vegging then you should be using the 6500k bulbs.:peace:

How did you plug those lights into the sockets like that? Did the bulbs come with an electric plug in or did you have to buy some sort of converter for them?

Home depot has those in the hardware department.

$2.30 a pop or something like that.
