diy carbon filter fan

i made my diy carbon filter and i'm going to put a computer fan on it but which way do i want to make the fan blow? should i put the fan on the filter so its sucking air through the filter and then blowing out the filtered air, or so that the fan is sucking in air and blowing it through the filter?

i believe u want it to suck into the fan and blow into the filter
