DIY 300W LED for $9?

Today I bought 20 15W led's for 50 cents each. My plan is to attach these lights to some kind of frame and use them in my 2x4 tent.

(They are normally $1 but today they are 50% off)

I found some simple light fixtures for $1.58 each in home depot, I didnt buy any of these yet since I might find a better deal.

I can attach these to a frame and use a junction box for the wires to make sure nothing is exposed. The only thing is that the bulbs are quite big and sort of like spotlights. Regardless I think I should be able to fit them all on some kind of frame.

My question is: Will this be nearly as effective as a 300w led grow light? Maybe as effective as a 200w light while using an extra 100w? ( I want to use it for veg and flower ).

It'll do fine for veg. If you want to flower with LED, just get decent stuff. It's affordable now. Whether you get a few strips from Digikey or arrow or boards from China, the driver is the most costly aspect to any build now days. And with the Meanwell LRS models, even that's not much anymore. They charge quite a bit for that enclosed case, higher IP rating, and dimming.
LRS lacks all those things, but remotely mounted,(which should be the case in any build) it's perfectly adequate.

30-35 watts per square foot is common with efficient LED grow lights that produce around 175 lumens per watt. Your bulbs are only 53 lumen/watt, so you should have around 720 watts for flower and about half for veg. The 3000k color temperature is good for both veg and flower. If you can remove the dome/lense, it will decrease light loss a few percent.

Wow they're that low? 53L/W.

I'd say return those or use for veg. But even so I'd say buy something you don't need so many of, triple, to hit equal efficiency of quality LEDs .
