hi!

im planning on getting COB LEDs 3000-3200k for bloom

If the led is 3000-3200k will it still work as a flowering lamp?

How many watts are needed ?

the grow area is 50x50CM. Im thinking of maybe 150-250watts?

Thanks :)

I'm using cree 3000k and they seem to be flowering well enough. You have around 3.5 sq ft same as me and i'm running 4x CXA 3070 at .7a .. therefore around 104w.. 4 running at 1.05amp would be around 160w..(?) probably overkill i'd say but on a dimmer would be ideal.. (for me as well- even just to be satisfied 104w was ok..)

The heat is not a problem ( growing in cold basement )

Do you think 200w 3100k would give me a "maxed out" light ??

thanks

I think it's going to depend (very much) on exactly which 3100k diodes you are considering?
Not necessarily 'maxed out' just some wasted or unnecessary power/area with diminishing returns possible.

Depends, I have decided on running my Cree CXA cob's [3000k] @ 500mA. Over 50% efficiency is my reason and I have only 70cm of overall height. Also supplementing with passive cooled 3500k Vero 10's on the walls, for a quasi vert light....Similar sized cabinet.

You need about 25-35 watts/25 cm2....Maybe more from unknown bin diodes.
