I have a 70w hps and it doesnt get very hot, some good exhaust and a fan blowing across it really keeps it cool, but in your area you already have
high daytime temps, so maybe a used AC unit would help you out?

I removed the photo cell in my HPS and it was really easy to do. The light was cheap, and it acts as a good supplement for the cfls, IMO in your
application (small box) it would be great.

I hear you on the nutes. I did back off them a bit. but I am gonna do another full shot of molasses. I wish I had been using this stuff since the beginning. Its full of Magnesium and Calcium and sugar. My plants are losing alot of green color right now but I feel like if i had been using it before they wouldnt have been so sickly looking.

I am going to look around for some 150w hps when I am out of town visiting family. If I dont find a cheap one then I will stick with CFL. perhaps a hps in the winter would work here. but I think with a proper box that I could get quite a bit more yield with CFL. hell I read a thread where a guy got 29g out of a pc box.

picked off a little nug and drying. cant afford a sack at the moment.

it was like $67 and it was all enclosed. had the glass enclosed case for the light and they sell a flange thing that attaches to vent out from the chassis for like $5. I am going to do some more research and see how hot these run. if you live anywhere but texas it seems like a good deal.

ill head over and check it out now. my pc fans havent come in yet but people say thats the way to go so im interested in how you did it.

my test bud was not dry enough to smoke, now i know that. it tasted pretty acrid because it was so wet. but I got high for about 30 minutes. nice and lifted, no couchlock which is what I was going for. very energetic high. so im pretty confident at least the one plant will be good to go in a week.

thanks man. I did feel really good knowing that I didnt kill them and the end product was passable. This is a great little hobby. I know my plants could probably go a few more weeks but Ive run out of time.

Ill of course keep it posted when I chop and dry. I need to look up a way to do that. Humidity is about 50% here right now so I dont know if I need to wrry about mold. I plan on using the paperbag method to hang em for a couple days.

I think today is one more day of molasses then I flush tomorrow and again the next day. Then they get nothing til friday and one little flush then lights off and chop on the first. hopefully thats enough time to dry I have to leave on the 6th.

I dried another little nugget today. I didnt weigh it wet but it was .2 grams after I dried it. Someone over on grasscity swears by getting the oven to 150 then turning ito off and putting your sample in there for 15 minutes. So I did this. It was pretty dry but had lost most its aroma but smoked decent. still a little acrid from not being dried proper. I smoked it with a bud and it was great. Much better than the first one. It was some creeper shit but really uplifting, no couchlock. I am pleased with myself.. haha.

so I have to chop in a week due to time constraints. I know the untopped plant will be ready. Ive already sampled it and its good enough for me.

Ive run into what may be a problem though. The topped plant looks like its putting up new leaves at the top... and its not really gotten any fatter in the last week that I can tell.. .

Can I expect any smoke from this?

thats what it looks like. I dont see it catching up to the other one in a week. I tried to sample it but the bud I picked off was too small and my oven dry didnt work as well, it seems very very green. I have to drive 400 miles on the 8th to see a specialist, otherwise I could give it a few more weeks.

flushed em both with a gallon each. havent used nutes in a few days. getting another flush in two days.

Flushed again. Last night of light. Two dark then chop.

post some pics when you chop.

Yar. My topped plant has put on some weight but it's still immature. Maybe some cannabutter if it's shitty smoke. My ol lady loves to bake.

you could leave ur plants and have a riged up hamster water bottle and have that pour out water every "15" or so hours.? that depends on how long oyu will be away tho. sorry if im just being annoying lol i wanna see them fully mature and Beautiful buds.. oh well theres always next round!

unfortunately I will be gone for over a month. medical shit and some surgery coming up so I have to get my kicks and go camping and hiking as much as possible in the next two weeks.

one of the plants looks really nice though. About half the hairs are brown and receding. I may chop it tonight but if not early in the morning they come down. I am going to get a couple paper bags, a couple glass jars, and a pair of nail scissors today. I hope they dry enough in 4 days to be put in jars and transported a few hundred miles. I am somewhat nervous about having so much in the car but I've never gotten any sort of ticket. I drive like a soccer mom.

LMAO, funny.

bought my jars and little scissors. wish i had a dehumidifier. going to do the chopping in just a few hours. Theyve had about 24 hours of dark. going to give them a bit more to really freak them out. I leave a week from tomorrow and want to make sure theyre dried properly before they get canned.
