Dirt cheap perpetual harvest?

I've got an attic and a budget of ~300-400 dollars. Soil, pots, and seeds aside, can I put together veg and flowering chambers for this price? I've got 6 by 6 cardboard boxes that can be used as enclosures. The ceiling is a little over 4 feet high. I'm planning on growing Arjan's Haze #3. Any product suggestions? This would be my first indoor grow.

What kinda lights do you plan on using?

Cardboard, as mentioned in another thread, is a fire and mold/bacteria hazard. Wood is cheap and I would recommend getting it.

doesn't arjan's haze take like 12 or 13 weeks to flower? if so that is a long time to wait when you can get something like some hash plants that flower in 40-45 days (thats roughly half the time)

good luck with whatever you choose to grow:weed:

clf light is best, try to not seal the boxes with spray paint use white paint. set the light about 2-4in off the plant on top all sides and under also beanding the plat after 3-4 week will help you fill out the boxes more and you can control the side but don't go more the 30 degree's at a time. one thing i need to know is how are you planing to water, feed and flush with out weting the box annd geting mold in there, i'll go box for the top and add a 3/4 plywood top for holding some lights wireing you know.

Lights can be hung from wood ceiling.

Probably going to go with CFL, any product suggestions?

Hey man... just a thought...

CFLs are fine if you just want to have fun growing...

But if you have any kind of respect for your budget, choose the biggest HPS you think you can get away with (heat wise), and go with the next size up inside of a cooltube with a kick ass fan...

Most people say they are on a budget and end up with a very high price per gram...

Use a strong HPS, it will give you the BEST GRAM/WATT ratio... therefore the cheapest buds...

If you are going to stick with it, you will end up with a bigger HPS, why upgrade 10 times along the way???

Your grow, your money... I've been there, and found myself burning over 400 watts in CFLs and small HPSs (I have 2 of the 70w and a 100w MH), so I ordered a 600W HPS and a 8" cooltube with a 265cfm fan...

With a cool tube and a big fan, you can treat a 400HPS ALMOST like a fluorescent... 6 inches or so... you just can't beat that...

My 2 cents... your grow...

Go with what you know...

Best of luck...

It's going to be in an attic, and there's fiberglass insulation about 10 feet away from where the grow would be taking place. Is this a problem? If I use a grow tent, would it be ok? Also, does anyone know of a 4 foot tall grow tent?

if ur not careful, Arjan's Haze #3 will become way too big for the room u have
They shouldn't grow much over 2 feet if they go directly into flower, and the mother plants will be LTSed.

Yeah, go for it. If I were you, I'd use CFLs or fluorescent tubes for vegetating and get yourself a decent HPS for flowering. If you're looking for low-priced lights, check this out:

I've got the 400-watt setup and just cut my third harvest. Grow in soil, get some decent fertilizer, and use spray-painted white cardboard to reflect most of the light back at your plants. Get one of the bigger bathroom vent fans and use it for ventilation. You may not even break $300.
