Dinafem Power Kush

Strain: Power Kush (from Dinafem feminized seed).
Growth: Spectacular. I gave this strain 7 or 8 weeks of veg time and topped liberally up until the last 2 weeks of veg. When I went 12/12, the plant was approximately 18" tall and incredibly bushy. Flowers FAST, and is the only strain I have encountered yet that truly IS done at 7 to 8 weeks of flowering (as claimed by the breeder. usually they claim 8 and that means 10 to 11. Not with this one!!!!).
Nutes: I run the entire Fox Farm line up (including additives) for soil, and I feed exactly according to the manufacturers feeding schedule. Don't worry about burning. This strain can REALLY take the nutes!!! I also add a teaspoon of Cal-Mag to each gallon of water about every 4th feeding.
Lighting: Vegged under T8's and CFL's for the first 4 weeks and then under a 600-watt MH for 4 weeks. Flowered for 8 weeks under a 600-watt HPS.
Yield: 5.14 ounces!!! (dried, de-stemmed, and fully cured for 4 weeks). This one made Daddy REALLY happy!!
Bag Appeal: Very good. Big, thick, dense, sticky buds with lots of orange hairs and a nice coating of trich's. An ounce of this in a zip-lock baggie is quite impressive.
Smell: Skunk-dominant with very sweet undertones (almost a strawberry or citrus hint). Very pleasant and appealing.
Taste: Absolutely fantastic. Nice stout skunky taste with a very strong sweet/fruity aftertaste. Incredible in a freshly cleaned glass bong!!!
The High: OUTSTANDING!!!! Not a one-hit-wonder, but 2 or 3 hits on the ol' bong and I'm ripped for the next few hours. Smoke an entire bowl by myself and I'm devastated/pretty much incapable of anything but eating and laughing (and I've been smoking weed for over 30 years, so I'm no lightweight!!).
Comments: My new favorite strain:mrgreen:. Easy to grow and super easy to clone. Incredibly durable and able to handle heavy feeding. FANTASTIC yields!!!! I've now cloned this particular plant over 14 times (all started from a single freebie seed from Attitude --- I got really lucky and got a wonderful phenotype! Luck of the draw, I guess!) and so far all of them that have reached maturity yet have all yielded approximately 5 ounces. Plus me and my friends absolutely LOVE the high!!!
Hmmm.....Tastes good, smells good, yields good, stones the shit out of me, super easy to grow, and flowers/matures fast. Guess what is going to be the main/dominant strain in my future grows!?!?!?!?! I honestly cannot find ANY faults with this strain (or at least my pheno. But I've talked with others who have grown out this strain and their results were comparable). I don't want to sound like some kind of paid sales-weasle, but this strain just flat-out rocks!!!!!!!!!!bongsmilie

haha yah!
5.14 ounces is hefty harvest.
Question when my plants are flowering can i trim away some fan leaves so that the light hit the bud site?

Sounds like my kind of Budss!:leaf:

How much did you pay for the seeds?
These were all grown from one UFO/freebie seed from The Attitude that I got with an order a while back. Germinated and vegged it and liked what I was seeing so I started cloning the hell out of it. Damned glad I did because I LOVE this stuff!!!

And yes, you can trim away SOME fan leaves if they are blocking a main bud sight, but I don't particularly recommend it if the leaf is healthy. You are better off folding the leaf under, or better yet, adding some auxilliary and/or side lighting to your set-up.

Those plants look VERY healthy! I wouldn't trim ANYTHING from them at this time.

How old are they and at what point in their life-cycle? Also, what sort of lighting are you going to flower them under?

Had a ton of trouble cloning it. Only one taker -- that made it outside of my useful parameters. It's too bad, I had high hopes -- it grows well/fast and it smells/looks great. Oh, well. Don't really know if it was my bad or no (aeroponic cloner). Still waiting for the harvest.

I also got very lucky with the ufo powerkush I got with one of my orders. Since it was a freebie I only had one seed, at first it was extremely slow starter, I mean this thing was 3 in tall for weeks, but mostly my fault for having it under a spare 250w cfl, but there were many other different strains in there that were growing much faster. I darn near through it out cause it had stopped growing, but I transplanted into 3 gallon pot and KABOOM this pheno absolutely took off, I topped it once, took 8 cuts and ended up getting just over 130g from her. It had 8 solid colas, they were all quite big and uniform, even the main top was just a tad bigger than the others. Overall it was a unique experience because of the weird beginning, I mean almost through this little measly looking girl out and few months later it was my biggest yielder I had and some quality herb. I would've ordered more but all my cuts rooted and I even added 2 clones to my outside garden which for me is a big sign of approval. Im not sure if I just got extremely lucky with this particular pheno, but to say the least Im extremely satisfied and consequently much more interested in dinafem although I havent ordered any of there gear quite yet. I would definetely recommend this for anyone, especially indoors, this fall I will know how she does outdoors aswell. Just a side note off subject about another freebie that Ive heard some negative feedback, was with greenhouse church, I must have gotten lucky cause she turned out to be one chronic quarter pounder, that again had a slow start. Anyways check out the powerkush and you wont be disappointed if you want an above average producer that ended up being extremely tolerant and easy to grow. Take Care, Peace E1

Great review.

I have one going now and she is so bushy that I had to take off her bottom 4 nodes just to get in to water her. I did the FIM technique at about 3 weeks veg then put her into flower at the 4th week and she just exploded with bud sites. She is in a 5 gallon air bag pot thingy with Subcool Super Soil. If she needs feeding toward the end then she will get some Iguana juice.

My buddy grew my freebie power kush seed that I got a year or two ago in a 3'x3'x6' tent under a 400w MH/HPS using a waterfarm and the scrog technique. It was ready to harvest at 8 weeks which is what it's advertised as. The total yield was 4oz and the bud is really covered in crystally goodness. Really easy to grow. Took the ppm to 1400 max.

Thanks for the report on dinafem power kush. I also recieved this seed as a ufo freebie and was wondering if it was worth making room for this strain. I think I will give it a shot. The only kush strain I have tried is OG Kush and it was damn good.

im at the end of wk 9 with my 2 powerkush ufos.it could have done at 8 but when i was thinking of flushing it started putting on weight. it si definably ready now i just haven't had time to cut it. it is crazy how uniform the buds are. i remmed and LST and have 14 tops im expecting at least 4 off one and prob 5 on the other definitely the best yielder i have ever grown. it is Afghani x skunk#1 cut. i think it gets the yields from the afghani side. and by the way it didn't stitch at all i veged under 600w MH for 7.5wks and it is less than 30'' tall. good to hear i have a nice smoke to look forward to.

+ rep for the good report, well done.

I have a few seedlings as we speak. I have their California Hashplant and am pretty happy with it. Looking forward to the PK.

My powerkush stretched like a mofo. Flowered at under a foot and about 4 feet tall now. She stretched well into flowering. She is definitely on the sativa side with long narrow leaves and the buds are so hairy with white can barely see green yet. She will swell up nice. She is 8 weeks from switching to 12/12 now and hairs are just starting to turn orange, maybe 2-3 weeks left still.

yea my powerkush had very thin sativa-like leaves but grew more like a indica very bushy tight internodes, tighter than my kushes, and the buds were very uniform with very even canopy one of mine had 14 colas the other 11 but i did top and lst. bout to harvest them today il try and get some pics. i really wish i had cloned these things.
