Difference in tomatoes from seed in veg tent vs flower tent so far

So that time of year has come upon us again time to start the seedlings for the garden. Luckily for me I was able to get my garden tilled up before summer decided to tease us and leave... But I had my lettuces, broccoli, califlower, kale, spinach all started inside and now transplanted in the garden!! The chilis, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, beans, squash are all starting inside in the veg tent. I've always started my plants under my t-5's on an 18/6 light cycle.

Now my dad and others claim 12/12 is fine for tomatoes and such.. My experience shows the latter.

I started my Toms as I usually do but took 2 and put them in the flower tent to see how they do basically 8bulb 4' t-5 fixture on 18/6 vs 600w hps 12/12
Ok for soil I use my own organic soil I mix up regardless if it's my bud plants, fruit plants, my girls flowers, or my veggies they all get the wonderfull soil mix.

Ok so the tomatoes are a month or so old now and the difference may be hard to see in the pictures but I'll explain what I've noticed. The ones in veg tent are really healthy and dark green. Thick hairy stems and blowing up!! the ones in the flower tent are a lighter green weaker stems and wilty leaves. The bottom sets have wilted away and fallen off and the ones above don't look much better. It honestly looks like there being over watered (I know there not) but that's what it looks like in a way. From what I've noticed it is way more benificial to keep them in the veg tent, mainly this was a way for me to see if it was worth it because sometimes my veg tent gets full and I need extra room but at what cost? anyway heres the pics.

I suggest when starting plants out using a minimum of 16hrs of light. I do bring plants in during the winter such as some pepper plants (one is 3yrs old), kiwi plants, orange tree, dwarf blueberry) these I keep in the flower tent and do wonderful. A problem I ran into with these inparticular is the 18hrs fucked with their internal clock during winter months and when they get set out in the spring/summer they can not fruit.
