differemces between GH Flora Nova Grow/Bloom and Dyna-Grow

so ive been using the GH Flora Nova line of nutes for awhile now..started using them in soil..then moved over to RDWC.

the quart size bottles i have will last me through my current grow,but am looking for somthing different..mainly because i am tired of cleaning the brown gunk from the sides of my buckets,and tired of looking at brown stained roots(no its not root rot) i was happy with GH except for those two minor things.

$24 with free shipping seems like a good deal for a bottle of dyna-grow..grow and bloom 16 0z bottles.

price isn't a real big concern,but i'm not looking to throw money away.

P.S. i DO NOT use organics..just my personal preference.

Yeah, find a better price. Retail for a dyna gro GROW is only like $16 or so, I think.

I've been using DynaGro Foliage Pro 9-3-6 for veg and Grow 7-9-5 for flower. No Protekt, only because it raises my tap waters ph. HBrewer said with RO water, equal parts GROW and PROTEKT brings you to a low 6 ph.

So far, this stuff is great and saving me some money. I'm sold. It's good to be on a 1 part complete nutrient. I'm not seeing the burnt leaf tips that I saw using HnG.

I used to like GenHydro nutrients till I found this Dyna-Gro, its complete food plant than GH. Thats way i dont get many defs from using this DG.

Its really simple, buddy.

i do use RO water,and am wondering if i still need cal/mag with the dyna-gro nutes.

I have used both... the Dyna Grow is a good bit lower in both calcium and magnesium adding more is usually needed but is not necessary with the flora nova .
I also don't like the bloom ratios of the Dyna Grow as it is best mixed with one of there grow formulas and extra mag is needed if using ro
In my opinion this makes it more of a pain in the ass than its worth for there bloom formula but than again i prefer one part nutes. The flora nova is the most
complete and best ratio I have found. I also don't like the brown muck caused by the added humic acid but lets remember a company like advanced would probably charge 50 dollars extra for that brown muck! Added potassium is also helpful when using Dyna Grow bloom there ratio is better for dirt than
hydro since it is so much heavier on the phosphorous (which tends to leach out of soil).

well the only reason i chose dyna-grow is cuz ive been reading alot of buzz about it on these forums.

after all their is no perfect nutes for this hobby.

their is no one nute fits all!

If you run Dyna-Gro I would consider using the whole lineup. In veg I have run Grow, Pro-Tekt, and Mag-Pro together with great results. In Bloom I have run Grow when N deficient in combination with Bloom, Pro-Tekt, and Mag-Pro also with knockout results. Even with using the the three or four bottles it is still pretty simple and I only run hydro. You will not be disappointed with this lineup and I would definitely recommend running the full line because you can get by with just grow but IMO your results will be much better going all the way. Also these nutes are very clean and you will not have any staining. Good luck and happy growing.

This is true for growing in promix but in hydro, I use bloom and magpro too. Protekt and grow for veg is all my plants seem to need. In flower I use protekt, grow, bloom and magpro (recommended if you're using RO).

While their gallon prices are around $50/bottle, it's generally a better value than the smaller sizes and 1 gallon lasts a long time. Quart sizes OTOH are great for 'testing'.

The plant below is being moved into flower and spend around 25 days vegging in my gutter (grow and protekt only). Don't get me started on 'root additives', competent growers don't need them. As you can see, DG is very clean.

Good lord HB:eek: ,are those 6'' r/w cubes sitting in some type table with 3 slits on the tray?on my next run i want to try and use a coco mat,but im not sure if i should water 2x a day or 1 time.good job bud!!

hey home brewer, im not trying to jack anyones thread im sorry im new to RIU and just have a question for homebrewer. ive read all your journals and read somewhere where you said you used mag pro with H&G aqua flakes. i know your not a huge fan of them but i just went and picked some up the other day and was wondering what your ratios were to mixing every? how much mag pro did you put in per gal? again sorry if i pissed anyone off i just need this answer terribly bad and then i will disappear.

The aqua flakes base is as cheap to run as DG and I actually liked how trouble-free and consistent it was to work with throughout a flowering cycle. Due to pH stability, ease of use and versatility, I prefer DG but AF is a good, inexpensive option. As far as magpro goes, I used about 1.5mls/gal because I was using RO water. That doesn't sound like a lot but to put things in perspective, it's 3 times more concentrated than liquid Koolbloom and both products cost the same.
