has anyone ever used DIF? diferntial between day temperature and night temperature for keeping your plants hight in check?

if you have what did you do? what was the temp difference

DIF? where did you hear thsi? Ive never heard of it and im guessing nobody else has either, you can control your plant size by clone starting height, pot size, and training

no i read it in a text book for a greenhouse class. its real but i probably should have posted it elsewere now that i think about it like the advanced section

Well you're right.....extreme changes in temperature WILL give you a shorter plant.

It will dcrease the amount of bud that that plant produces.......SO.....you'll get more bud off a plant you're flowered from a small clone and used recommended temps (night and day), than flowering a larger plant but using 'DIF' to keep it to the same height as the former plant.

Extreme changes in temperature aren't very good for plant material. As the temperature increases/decreases, the plant matter expands/shrinks which causes the plant stress....and decreases yeild.
