Do you fellas stick with 18/6 all the way thru flower or do you still induce w/ 12/12?? THX! Diggin the grow!
River your first plant has some giant under growth, it looks like that strain would LST very well
i do 20/4 all the way through, but 18/6 is fine! these autoflower so there is no need to induce with 12/12. thanks

im not sure where i read this, but i heard 17/7 is good for autos to grow in, but maybe im wrong
makes sense, AFs confuse me because it seems a plant flowering in alot of light would have the energy for the dankest buds - not at all what ruderalis (in general, i've heard AFs being sold are quite strong) is known for. But it's kinda like the 24/7 vs 18/6 debate for veg- I say the dark time is necessary. 17/7 may very well be to benefit

i'm actually thinking about switching to 18/6 from 20/4 that i have going now, saves power and i think the plants will enjoy it. also, look on the first page of this journal, i'm wondering if i should turn my light to where the back of the light is facing out?? i'm wondering which way provides more light, and since i only have 4 plants i don't have to worry about the light diminishing!

hey nice thread goin here. regarding the lighting, i heard that if you veg with 24/0 the plants will flower a lot faster when 12/12 is introduced.

thanks alot man. the strain i'm growing, diesel ryder, is a autoflowering strain, which means it automatically flowers under 18/6 or 20/4 light!

I just switched to 18/6!! what do you guys think?? i just read some dude saying that diesel ryder's do better under 20/4, but saw another journal where a dude used 18/6 with hydro, and got over 2 ozs per plant!! so i'm torn...i think joint doc, the creator, says 18/6. probably doesn't matter too much, i just wanna max out my yield, since i only got 4 little ladies. think that'd effect the overall yield that much?

the only time u should ever consider going 12/12 with an auto flowering strain is in the last week of flowering!!! that's it!:wall:

trust me...I didn't say through-out the grow...I said the LAST WEEK!! OF FLOWERING!!!(week 10) it helps with the trics, and more flavor...but u dont have to do it ...it's not an absolute must...of course all auto's use 18/6 light....I was just correcting dude about HIS comments..:-o

nah, never 12/12 with an autoflowering strain!!!!

all auto's call for 20/4 light. To increase trich's leave the plants in dark for 24-48 hours

Here it is...(this works great, espcially for autos and when trying to make fem seeds) ..If you don't want hermies switch to a waining Light period.
This light period is one where you gradually dial back the light cycle one hour at a time for a week for each hour. This process takes 5 weeks. After you reach the 12/12 is when you start counting your flowering time.
It also works well with Indicas, because you will see pre flowers within the waining light cycle... (it also makes your buds slightly bigger with indicas)
DJ Short alludes to it in His book, Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis. The reason behind this is because you can not expect a Sub-equatorial strain to switch to 12-12 overnight. The region where they come from doesn't do that and neither should the grower. The Light cycle is genetically programmed into the plant. Any deviation from that will result in Hermies.
The Object is to try and duplicate nature.....WE GOOD BRO:leaf::leaf: Pass the bong...:weed:
