Didn't wash my coco coir...

As the title states man I forgot I had to wash coco coir prior to using since this is my first time working with it. I got this brick from amazon called FibreDust coco coir block and it states that its pre rinsed to remove excess salt but idk if that holds water. Ive got it composting right now in an organic soil I just made that contains half coco coir half peat for the base.

Basically I'm wondering if theres anything I could do at this point to remove potential salts within the mix. Thanks in advance for any insight you might have, much love

Get a tds meter there worth every penny . If your plants are not showing signs of problems don’t worry about it .
Word, I haven't planted anything in the soil yet as its till cooking. Ill get one of those meters in the near future - once planted in the soil, how will I know if its being affected by the coco if at all?

The meter won't tell you if you have Sodium in your Coco, which is what needs to be rinsed out, now that you mixed it with other products. The meter will register any ion in solution. It won't tell you if Na is present or if it's Mg or Ca.

Prior to mixing if you put some in distilled, or RO, water and measured with a TDS pen then you'd assume salt unless they preloaded the coco with Mg or Ca. So there is that question too.

I'd try using a pool salinity test. I run a saltwater pool and you can find test strips on Amazon that test for the presence of salt. If I got a positive response I'd chuck it and build a different batch of soil.

Caveat: I grow hydro in coco/perlite, not in soil at all. In the times I've used coir I haven't had issues with it not being pre-washed.
