There was some news article I read where something got interpreted along those lines. I was not hi at the time I read it but there was some supposition which led the person in the article to the conclusion the the fed would not be able to prosecute mmj recipients in legal states. I do not believe this is an accurate opinion. I think it was in the legal section here where I read it. There was a link to a news article in there. Seemed inaccurate to me so I blew it off.

I totally forgot where I heard and read it but I know I did. I know I remember this. I heard this and got the sudden rush to want to vote for Obama for this reason because it brings so much peace to this country not just for marijuana laws either but even better for marijuana laws. That means California and other states who have it legal to grow marijuana, dont have to worry of outside policing as the state would be in control of regulating it. Saves Federal Spending. Someone has to have some info on this.

I think the trouble is that federal law trumps state law. It's structural to the makeup (constitution, even) of the republic. So it cannot be true. I conclude that Obama ...didn't. cn

That's set in place to help deal with the situations that the country has dealt with on several occasions. Reconstructing the south through the civil rights era. Then on top of that you have to try to keep unity within the country and try to prevent a secession. Trying to govern from a distance during times of unrest was very tricky work back then. I think that take on federal enforcement was more catered to back before mass transit and the advancement in communication methods. Imagine if in this day and age we had some rogue states that didn't play nice with others but the Feds couldn't legally do anything. It would just allow more surface area for splintering and dividing of America. That added into the mix of already uncompromising politicians in the legislature sounds like a recipe for even more dismay in the opinion of the masses about politics.
It would be a god send of a law in the perspective of the medical community then yea its great!
but zoom out a bit and see what else happens from that policy and the full picture might not be so good. Just a thought.
