Did I wait too long to chop?

50days.jpgSince it is 50 days in 12-12 and seed catalog said it needed 60 days to finish, I wasn't looking too closely yet. But I borrowed a magnifier and shot pictures through it, and it looks to me like I have too many amber trichs in certain places--on some leaves it looks 50% amber! On other buds, not much amber at all? Should I chop now? Did I wait too long?

I doubt you waited to long. Amber trichs aren't always from being mature. They can appear amber from being damaged as well, that may be what you are seeing. My other question is did you start counting your days when you switched the lights, or when the plants started to show sex?

50daysII.jpgHmm, two good points to consider, so thanks for that. The plant has gotten banged around a little bit, so maybe that's a factor. I started counting Day 1 when I switched to 12-12, is that not the correct way?

I don't believe there is one way that is correct as with alot of things. I could be wrong there but I think some people count each way. I always start counting when the plants start to show sex not when I change lights. Thats just me, it makes me feel like I am being truer to my plants. But I also don't base me harvest on a specific time frame. I'll use that time frame for referance and keep a close eye on the plants when that time comes. The white widow I've been growing from clone for 4 years gets pulled right around 7 weeks. I've pulled it as early as 6 and as late as 10, and haven't seen a noticable differance letting it go any longer then 7-7.5 . It all comes down to the genetics, and how well the plants are growing, how much stress they've had, and such.

Peace TC

Don't always go with what they say at the seed bank.
There is a difference with counting from 12/12 and counting from flowering. You want to count from flowering
