Did I just OD on nutrients?

I usually mix a gallon of distilled with half strength base nutrients and water in. Today I mixed 2 gallons of water, each with the same half strength nutrients, and watered both gallons in. Even though the amount of water has changed, it still counts as a half strength dose right? Hope I didnt nuke it.

Yes, you just fed more (volume) of half-strength nutes. I do that occasionally in late veg and throughout flower to have a "mini flush" and reduce salt build up.

Why did you decide to use two gallons this time?

Cool, I didnt nuke it. I am very careful with doses. Whew! (Wipes forehead).

Significant runoff, say 30-40% of the container's volume.
But if your adding anything but ph adjusted water and maybe a flushing solution (like final phase, finishing touch or something)... are you actually flushing? im just asking because the word flush gets thrown Around A LOT. And it seems like everyone has a different idea of what flushing is and the importance of it.

As I said, a little every feeding. Instead of a 3x flush going into flower, something more like a 0.25-0.5x flush every feeding or two. I call it a mini flush.

If you can think of a better term, let me know. (I agree with you that "flush" is used for a lot of activities. To me it means 3x volume of water, nuted or not, with a flush additive or not. Just a traumatic amount of fluiid.).

I use distilled water mixed with nutes. I dont use fluah product. Just a full two weeks of plain water.
I call that a "cleanse." You're just letting the plant consume the remaining salts in the soil, cannibalize itself. You're not really flushing a large volume of water.

I used to do that until recently. Now I cut back to half-strength nutes 1-2 feedings before harvest. Maybe water only the last time. I don't overfeed, don't let salt build up, and my nutrients aren't entirely synthetic. Those factors may influence whether water-only cleansing is beneficial..

I agree. I use organic base nutrients at half strength. In order to keep salts low My last two weeks are plain water.
