Did I just mess up my plants ?

I’m fairly new to growing and have 2 plants going right now . 1 auto and 1 photo . They are 3 weeks old . Auto has its first white hairs coming out . I might have made a mistake and defoliated all the big fan leaves thinking all the under growth would get more light and take over . I want to know if I just f’d them up . Thanks guys

They are fine but no need to defoliate before flower.
Also autos are not usually topped

Plants have to be a lot bigger than that before leaves start blocking light and you begin considering some defoliation. Less is more, especially when you’re starting out. Good luck.

Plants should be fine for now.

I appreciate the advice! Also do you guys think that may have stunted the final yield ?
