Did I FIM correctly?

I decided to try and FIM my plants today but now worried I may have bungled the attempt. I decided to just pinch the tops but I didn't pinch anything off, just squeezed the crap out of it.
I isolated the very top of the plant and got what felt like a little ball between my fingers and crushed it.... sound right?

They are on about the fith or sixth node now, pic for size, sorry the hps was still on.

5th or 6th node after you missed the... Fuck I missed top?

Use tweezers if you like squeezing instead of cutting next time

Great FIM - how many times are you going to do it ? Your node count is correct also. Squeeze- ing is some time necessary - you know one must be easy on the plant if possible. Plant will re-bound just find. !!

I think I may have done more of a top than a FIM by crushing that whole little ball. Maybe I was supposed to just squeeze the new leaves and not the whole thing?

Just pinch it off like half way. It doesn't look like it worked. Here are some pics of a fim and its progress
A day or 2 after the fim. You can see the cut tip20150814_125548-2-1.jpg
And a few days later

A week later the cut tip starts to grow again20150818_031637-1.jpg

So I guess you just want to cut the little ball in half or do you cut off everything just above the little ball?
Cut where the tip of the pen is

After fim

If you want to top instead of fim you cut here at the stem and remove the whole to piece when you fim you leave behind 20percent of it

These to lil growing tips right under where you fim or top will take over. ( the ones my fingers are touching)

By the way your plant looks nice keep it up.

Meristem is the term. Clip it. The cells are undifferientated. They will continue from the upper tops. Resulting in multiple tops. When you get to the 5th or 6th node it is pretty apparent. Get the top and wait to see what happens... you will soon have multiple meristems or tops.

I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this but, she's not going to make it. The FIM has failed. :peace:

I may have botched the FIM attempt but I don't think the plants are going to hold it against me. The spots I pinched look pretty dead and nothing growing out the top but under it seems to be doing good so far. Overall they look OK so we'll see what happens.
