There are no Dispensaries in AZ as of yet. He could have waited and became a Dispensary agent once Dispensaries opened up. But he couldn't wait apparently.
hmm i was thinking about moving that way to be ready to open one up but unfortunately they have mad rules like you must have been a citizen for 5 years prior and only one per county or some shit but if you pay the rediculously high license fee and get denied you dont get it back...just looked over bearing to me..

Well in reality I drove the entire 1.5 lbs in one trip without incident. Are you guys allowed to grow for yourselves? I can't imagine getting by growing outdoors with such a small limit and actually abiding by it. Grow one tiny tiny plant, harvest half, destroy the other half, and then run out of bud two months later?

I know of multiple people who have been pulled over with way more than the 2.5. A letter from the club they were running meds for, and they were released and meds returned.

The 2.5oz limit is for dispensaries to give to patients, you should be all over that one lucious.

What do you mean?

No clubs are open as of yet. You mean a collective should write a letter to the police? I don't know that this guy was a "runner" for any collective. He should have been a Caregiver carrying that amount regardless. If he didn't have his card plus 5 more on him, well, he was slippin.

this is my favorite line...

Hutchins was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle turned up a duffel bag with approximately 2 pounds of additional packaged, vacuumed-sealed hydroponics....

what was he driving around with a dwc or nft system in his trunk that weighed two pounds or watt?? i love how they tack on the word hydroponic like they have a clue watt that even means.. :)

I have to agree with Swaggers. I have friends that are new to this game, biz, caregiver thing that are doing 2 lbs. per light and keeping their serious patients happy and paying their electric bills to make all this happen. A crime paying the electric bill.....give me a break. This new law is all coming down to all about the $$$...too bad, it should be about the patients and the people that need this medicine.

I see more of years of the govt. playing games in AZ as they have in CA, to justify more $$ for their causes. as stupid as they are.

The legal fights have been going on for 15 yrs in CA and just beginning in AZ, and all i can think of is one of my stepdads sayings, "Persistence breaks down resistence". Its worked well for me in life and its working in this challenge...but it's a persistent, long way to go in AZ.

dude shouldn't have been driving with 2lbs, however if he's smart, or at least his attorney is, he might be able to justify it and possibly win in court. the limit for possession is 2.5 oz but if no dispensaries are open and you are authorized to cultivate how are you supposed to maintain an 'uninterpreted supply'?

Watch this case mates... I could see it being dismissed...

(12) plants will harvest over 2 elbows all day. He was wrong to be transporting that much medicine, yes.

Remember the guy with over 70 lbs ? Dismissed...

You know getting a kid to understand that if you are going to do this shit you need to have your shit together. Cut your hair, keep your license current, tags etc and dont put two lbs of weed and cash in a back pack and put it on your back seat. Clean your act up and if you going to do it put the shit in the trunk under a tire but dont drive around like a bad ass and not expect the cops to pull you over. Look at the kid he is typical stoner of course he is going to get pulled over. Be a business man for gosh sake.

Someone snitched on them.. Law enforcement just doesnt find your grow op on accident...Less people that see your grow room is a good thing, less friends you have in the MMJ community the better.
I hear that.

Though I have read about the monitoring on power bills and such. I imagine an operation like that would show on an infrared also.

Either way the guys went above and beyond what they should have imo.

yup

I think it's ok to make friends just don't let people know about your grow and stay within your plant count limits just to be on the safe side.
