Diagnosis Unsure, Please Help

Hello! Learning a lot here on RIU thanks to all those who are willing to share their knowledge! Not sure if I have a deficiency problem or if it is a heat-stress issue (did have some venting issues for a few days that are now fixed). GH Organics and I'm doing a light feeding schedule, I've only fed them four times and they've been in veg for two months. (They just got switched to 12/12 about a week ago.) Because I noticed a "claw" issue, I have only been doing tap water, ph to 6.0-6.5, and have been watching and waiting to see if that got better. Now look, the little fan leaves are curling and being super sad. I hate posting pics but I know it helps so here they are:

This is under an HPS light--sorry! Ignore the one leaf in the first & last pic on the right side--it's a CFL burn from the beginning. The second big fan leaf, I have a few at the bottom that look just like it too but the rest of the top foliage looks good. Initially I assumed it was from nutes leaking on them when I watered in the beginning. I'm in HF soil, keeping an eye on my ph, it's not underwatering/overwatering... so please help! Thank you.

kinda looks like root aphid damage. could be wrong but i just lost 18 plants to those littlebastards. you should look it up to be on the safe side.

You said its not over watered but it looks like it is along with a deficiency of cal/mag and other micros. Good Luck

i'm trying to water it only when the container is light. i'll water more and see how she does. i thought the claw was from an overdose of nitrogen so wasn't feeding her anymore, should i try to feed her more? i was concerned that i would, as a newby, give her nute burn.

edit: oh, you said it looks like i'm OVERwatering her. sorry misread that! the container is always light when i water, i was worried i wasn't watering her enough, especially once she got under the HPS and with the heat issues!

i don't think i have bugs, but how would i know if i had root aphids? can i open up my airpot and look--can they be seen with the naked eye?

Judging by the new growth I'm afraid you have either broad mites or wheat curl mites. They are microscopic so you won't be able to see them without a strong magnifying glass or a microscope. You will find them hiding on and under the newest leaves.

There is a sticky over at ICMAG with tons of pics and info. Do not take this problem lightly, broad mites are the worst pest you can get on your cannabis plants!

good eye, Cpappa. definitely agree, you need some cal/mag (mainly cal) to your feed regime. i believe general organic has a cal/mag supplement, pick some up and put it to use.

I Use cal/mag with every watering. It does look wicked green. Back off the nitrogen a little and if its not over watering then it may be underwatering. When you water you need to make sure you water the complete medium not just the center. Water it until there is a little runoff. In my 5 gallon buckets when they are light and they need water I found that 1 gallon of water perfectly soaks the medium with a little runoff. Good Luck My friend. Get that cal/mag in there and purchase a bottle of natural micros. I use earth juice I got it off amazon for cheap.

It doesn't look like broad mites or any other infestation to me. A lot of deficiencies can mimic insect infestations. Try giving it what I told you and if it doesn't go away then you can grab a handheld Microscope 100x and look at the affected leaves for bugs.

i've been using the GH organics go-box that contains BioThrive plant food (4-3-3), CaMg+, BioMarine (2-3-1), BioWeed (0.2-0-0.3), and discontinued the BioRoot after the first month and i have followed the directions as far as per gallon, etc., i just haven't been using it a lot because of the "claw" issue (my notes say i've fed them four times since they've been in veg)--thinking it was not a heavy feeder...if the airpot is light, and i water every other day or on the third day--is that too much? obviously yes, if you both think it is overwatered. i was concerned with the heat issue in my room that she could be thirsty. :-P i can give her nutrients with cal/mag in a day or two and will do so once a week and see how she looks in a few weeks. thanks!

PS also right before lights out, i looked with my 60x magnifier and didn't see any bugs on any leaves, taking care with looking at the leaves that looked damaged.

Here are pics of broad mites and some of their damage. Note the very newest growth, this is where the mites like to feed and do the most damage. It only takes a few of them to harm a plant because they inject their toxic saliva directly into the plant.

In the last pic those are broad mites hanging on to a whitefly's legs just to give you an idea how small these bastards are. They travel from place to place on the legs of the whitefly.

Cpappa is this what you are talking about: Earth Juice Nutrients - MICRO BLAST? there were a lot of different earth juice items to choose from! :-?

thanks all! BTW, i'm a woman and i really appreciate all you guys' help  (i figured me telling you i'm a woman would make the hug better!) :-o

Looks EXACTLY like broad mite damage, do you have a clue what you are talking about? Why would you ever suggest for someone to wait to scope their sick plants with a magnifying glass? These infestations only get worse as you wait.

Yup, looks like broad mites.
i would have to disagree. unless his surrounding area is known for such bugs or he took in clones from an area that's known for such bugs, that is not broad mites.

i just recently had some plants that look very reminiscent to pics he posted and was told/thought the same thing. that is until i realized that it's impossible, because around my parts broad mites, spider mites aphids and any other crop destroying bug is foreign to my region (im in an area where it's mostly concrete, buildings and very little to no farming), so that couldn't be the case.
also, the same damage that's presented in this thread, was only occurring on all plants from one variety (of many that i have going atm) and not the rest.

being that i was using a 1 part solution, i thought maybe i was underfeeding, so i bumped up the nutes, but that didn't work. next, i mixed a medium strength nute solution and fed back to back, but that didn't work. all the while, i knew for a fact that it was cal/mag, but couldn't believe it due to the fact that the 1 part has cal/mag in it. however, it didn't have enough of it. so i decided to add cal/mag to my feed regime and haven't had the problems ever since.

so basically, my feed schedule is 1 part + cal/mag, cal/mag, water.

here's a link for you to take a look at. as you will see, Cpapa, was dead on with his diagnosis.

see the thing to feeding properly, one must know how to properly read plants. my advise to you would be find a range or strength that your plants like and alternate with cal/mag with just water as your feeding regime. you do that, you shouldn't have this issue again.

if you like, i could explain what i mean a lil better. however, i will refrain from doing so, because i don't want to impose my way of doing things on someone without their permission.

For her sake I hope you and Cpapa are right and I am wrong. Hopefully she will figure it out and keep us posted. I stand by my diagnosis.
