Determining sex, whats the delay??

Been working on a scrog, 3 weeks veg, and as the days count 3 weeks yesterday flower. Not anywhere near 100% on the sex, thinking its female, but not sure.

Little history on the plant and lights, day i switched it over to flower was a friday, i was running lights on during the day, swapped them over to night scheduel, by monday i was back to day scheduel, trying to get tempertures under wrap. Did this throw the flowering scheduel off, and why is it so behind....Been running 12/12 since the first of the month.

Used a jewlers 15x loop.

Took all magnified pictures using a camera looking through the 15x loop. as my camera has no magnification of any decent quality.

Again this is an unedjucated guess. But it looks female, just very unsure and i'm going on 3 weeks flower, seems very behind.

wow, 3 weeks flowering and no real sign... i dont see anything to indicate either. no pistols, no sacs. nothin but stipules. how dark is it in that room on the dark cycle? is there a window? id say its probably a female or you woulda seen pollen sacs by now. i may be wrong. either way still kinda odd. hope you see hairs soon..

Plants will show flowers only when they mature enough to flower. Ya may have a light leak. Make sure your lights are set to 12x12

That room is as dark as a cave, seriously, no windows, 2 doors. No internal light but box lights and ceiling light. Lights are definetly 12/12, 9am-9pm Timer. During the first 3-5 days i did disturb it, but only during its first hr or the first 30mins before. That shouldn't be a problem, ie cloud or moon light.

I figured based on what i've read, as i do alot of that, that it would have shown by now, but nothing, and not much bud formation so to say yet, but ALOT of nodal growth.......which leads me to beleive it may be a sativa, but do they show sex later or any different than an indica which i previously though i could have had...or a more dominate that is.

Very odd......Seed was from some good outdoor bagseed. If it was hermied it would have both pairs.... I will say i've only been tucking leaves and exposing inner growth for the last 3days. But the dark cycle would show sex, not the light.....I'm befuddled myself and perplexed....

I would stop tucking it under and just let it grow upwards. The nodes are where your buds will form. I think that it is a feamale by the node formation.It should be showing sex by now. My only guess is that its not mature enough to show sex. but ya say it seemed to kick out nodes and started the stretch so i am puzzled.

Just a little comparison for sakes of size.

Do sativas show sex later than indicas? I previously though it was an indica, i'm more thinking now its sativa based on leaves. Though spacing is indicaish.

Day ~4 flower. Hadn't even concieved of using the scrog yet.



And Before tucking and more growth. ~20days Ie 2 days ago. I only had 1" more vertical space so i had to start tucking and tying down, i have no clue how much larger its going to get, so training is the only way.

Update with a new pic......looks like the cones are trying to split......mabey to show hairs?

if i HAD to give a answer, i would also say its a girl.....i hate this part of the grow, its like actually being a REAl parent and your waiting to find out if your unborn baby is a boy or a girl......it seems to take FOREVER.............i wish you luck my firend, it always makes me happy to read a thread about a person finally finding out his plant is a female, its a great feeling........

Haha well thanks bro, the more people i can get on my side, the more i feel it'll go the direction i intend.

I've been checking it daily for the last 2weeks, leaving for the weekend, ie sat midday-monday midday, so when i get back i hope it will be definitive.

EDIT: Since i posted this i check it again, with my 15x loop, multiple cones look to be splitting with something coming from the top. Looks like a rain drop with the top part of the tear drop curling out......Where the tear drop should be straight looks like a very fine needle coming, out.......barely visible even with the 15x right now......

So i'm 90% sure i have a girl, i just hope it keeps on keepin on. Will reply on monday with a follow up. Pray temps will stay below 90, as the weekend is supposed to warm up.

Update since i'm back in town......Me thinks its definitively a girl.....but other head have yet to show hairs, but all have cones. Any ideas on yield, and yes i know thas a hugely variable question.

they look like testicles to me. but Im fairly new at growing and trying to sex mine myself so dont take my word on it.

Im in this exact same boat. Im 5 days into flowering and really nervous about getting any males out asap. It seems that i read somewhere it can be like 10 days flowering before you see any signs of sex appear. anyone want to correct me on that info??

Im sure it probably varies a bit for strain to strain. Id tell you my strain but i dont even know what they are. bag seed. but seems that I quite possibly have a few different strains in the mix from a random bag of seed. meh. hope its good.

Same here, they look like testes to me as well, but i'm not edjucated really on looking, just pictures from the FAQ.

But yea trying to get it out ASAP, if thats the case then the large one will be my only grow till i get a new apt.

I agree, the first one is a lady for sure and the little one is almost definately a male. Good luck on your lady.

How do you suppose i dispose of him?

Thoughts....Gonna drop him in a trash bag, and go for a drive......stop by an apt complex down the road and drop him off in the dumpster. Think thats a safe enough disposal?

I'm pretty confident hes not too strong, is there anything i could do with him, he's not more than 8" tall...
