Designing Grow Room

hello everyone this is my first post to the forum although I have been in the shadows reading and researching for about a month. i am in the middle of building my room it is 8x8 w/ 7 foot ceiling. It will be drywalled with green board and insulated with r 19 on side walls and r25 on top. I want to use this room to germinate, veg and flower. Would like to run two strains start one move it to flower then start the other. looking at running 2 1000 watt sun system xxxl 8" air cooled to flower and not for sure what to use for veg, would like to pump co2 and use electric base board heat to suplement night time temp. Would that be to much light for 10 plants and would a 1lb yield be asking to much. looking for good genetics would like to start from seed but it looks like all the strains I am interested in are clone only and I really don't trust the clone game in my area.(michigan) But it seems like all of the seed banks sell are knock offs or hybrids x 10 of the more popular strains. S. diesel, kush, headband or anything that gets good $$$, moves fast and has urban appeal. Where to get seeds. If I've offend any one posted wrong or don't know jack correct me give me good info and help me grow.

P.S I haven't smoked in about 16 years looking forward to smoking some of my own
home grown.

experience + good information = good grow

Gotta go to work gonna keep this real short, why not use OSB instead of greenboard? i believe it would be cheaper, holds up to moisture better (esp if painted) and you can put anything anywhere. Second if you have 2000 watts of light, an 8x8 room and you can't clear a pound, you need to redesign. Attitude for seedbank, reeferman and mr.nice seeds for top quality, other good breeders too, just those seem to be the top 2 (IMO)

in total agreement with above post. OSB gives you the option of wall mounting anything you need.
I will add that T-5's for veg are inexpensive to operate and work great.
Attitude shippments with expedited shipping and t-shirt will get you guaranteed delivery.

1000w covers 4x4 space 4x4 space = 16 square feet... So your Two 1000w's will only be ideal for 32 sq feet of room but your space is 64 sq feet meaning you will have 32 sq feet of area not getting ideal amount of light.........so when some says 10 plants and 2000watts is probably too much light id have to desagree based in your 8x8 grow area...make sense?? now if you put those ten plants in a 4x8 space then id say your 2000w's are just perfect for your space but if you want to maximise your yield your not going to do it with those numbers the way they add up....i mean im just doing simple math here and it dont add up to a maximum yield........ just some food for thought

I understand and I have been doing some reading and it would appear that like you said 2000k watts and 8x4 is perfect and I could use the othe 8x4 for clone/veg/mother but to maximize what should the plant count be in an 8x4 area or how can I determine the canopy size for my plants. Also what strains should I b looking for I want the kill factor (potentcy) and street appeal (fa$$$t mover) want to start from seed. To avoid disease, pest and crummy genes and I the pleasure of bringing them into the world myself.

Well im a fan of doing 9 3gallon pots per 4x4 area, which would be 18 in a 4x8 area.... Id grow them no taller then 3ft and top them...Or you could go 6 plants for each 4x4 space and veg them longer growing them to 4ft and that would be 12 plants in 5gallon pots.... so recap would be 18 in 3gallon or 12 in 6gallon with longer veg time....thats what i would do......As far as strain goes that debate will never end....If your going to grow from seed then the point is to get a mother plant from your seeds and clone her genitcs.....
