Designing a large grow operation, questions on how much space I need to dry?

Hi!

Never grown before, and sort of fell into this business and I've been researching like crazy trying to put together my first grow room.

I have it setup to where there will be a 720 plant flowering room in a 2 level SCROG setup. I would assume each plant would produce roughly 3 ounces of dried material per plant and they will be no more than 42" tall (total plant height with the 6x6x6 rockwool cube)

I'm trying to put together blueprints of the drying room, and was wondering how much space I would need.

I have a 10x20 section I could wall off that would be absolutely perfect in the layout, I just don't know if that would be enough space.

1. Any tips of maximizing space efficiency when it comes to drying?

2. What is the ideal time for the product to dry? Does drying faster reduce quality?

3. Once dried and trimmed how long will they have to cure in containers for? I was going to use food grade 5 gallon buckets with curecork units to regulate humidity.

Thanks!!!

Drying is going to be the least of your challenges. When you start uploading pics of these 720 plants in flower the good folks here at RIU will likely give you some ideas @ that point re drying/curing.

For the sake of curiousity ...How long do you think it will take to trim 720 plants/135 pounds?

Pics of the space? # of lights? Cu yards of medium? Container size? Individual screen size? Total sq ft of the grow area? More info = more answers.

OK...just saw your other thread. Yes 710...if this goes anywhere it will be very interesting. I can only imagine the stain on the guy's underwear who is financing this when he sees these threads....

For 700+ plants, you are talking about a lifestyle change. That is a full time job+ for multiple people. Requires most all of your time, and concerted efforts. Not that the OP owes us anything, but i would like to know more specifics. Lighting, general setup. There has to be other veteran people involved with major experience for a project like this. The way the OP framed this post makes me worried for him, or its fake lol.

I have never grown before, and am in the process of trying to learn everything I can in regards to a grow operation. In Michigan the medical laws were not intended for any type of considerable profits to be had off current legislation, so I never got involved. Now the legislation has changed, and I should have everything all set on the city/state level to start an operation.

I have money to invest, licensing approval, and multiple buildings I could use. Now I am working on acquiring the knowledge on how to properly setup a facility to have others run the grow while I manage the business side of things. I have enough building space for 30,000 plants, but wanted to come up with a repeatable 1500 plant operation that can be duplicated. I'd like to draft everything together roughly so when I start construction I can build the first 1500 plant grow room all at once, but that is tricky without having done it before. I've contacted local growers, but I haven't had a chance to have contact with anyone yet that has experience with a large operation since I live in a small town/rural area.

As far as trimming, the research I've done points to roughly 8 hours per pound when hand trimming. I am currently looking into different machines to trim because it is invaluable with that amount of product being processed, plus with developing a brand there has to be some level of consistency when dealing with such large volume. Hopefully I can find a way to machine trim without destroying the terpines, because it seems that most/if not all the machines really degrade bud quality.

Yes, I am new to this and have never grown before. We all have to start somewhere I suppose. Maybe these questions are more likely to have success in the newbie forum.

Never grown before and youre going in on 700+ plants? Lol. Sounds interesting.
A lot more than that if everything goes right!

Here is a link to the setup I was looking at doing.

I am here searching the forum and asking questions to try and get veteran help :)

How are prices holding up? Cali machine trimmed is going for $700/unit in lots of 100 or bigger.
