Dehumidifier

Looking for a good dehumidifier for my 420 cubic foot flower shed. Nine plants, 7 gallon fabric pots drinking about half a gallon each per day. Outside air intake is used to modify humidity during lights on, but not an option at night.

Something small like that you can score a used dehuey on FB marketplace plugged into a timer that comes on at night or a sonoff temp/humidity plug. I have snagged cheap fantech 250 dri-eaz or drizair units. Pay attention to aham rated PPD removal. My big drizair is like 150ppd aham and I paid 500 bucks. These are nice since they're mobile but a quest running on 240v will be more efficient

Definitely check craigslist, when you can get the units that are used for commercial flood cleanup they last forever. The really top notch ones have hour meters. Phoenix, Dri-Eaz / Drizair and the like. Quest is by far the best ones purpose built for our usage but they cost a lot.

I picked up one of these on CL for $200 and it's a beast:

They really arent that expensive to buy new.... a 70 pint unit should be adequate.

Usually options are 30 pint, 50pt and 70pt and the bigger it is the more power it needs. I think 50pt is adequate but consider your AC having to compensate and the extra power draw from the plug/panel.

They all generate the same amount of heat per amount of water to be removed from the air. Like if your trying to pull one gallon of water from the air, the 70 pint takes 2 hours while the 30 pint takes over 4 hours. So sure, the 70 is putting out more heat while running, but it runs a much shorter period of time and in the end they both put off about the same total amount of thermal energy so long as they are actually regulating the environment they are in. And the bigger the dehumidifier, the bigger the bucket it comes with meaning less emptying.
