Hey Nubby, why do you say warm soil? Just curious, I don't use soil. Looks like Nucrosis to me, which is usually Potassium deficiency. Tips curling down kinda confirms it...

There is nothing in any of those pictures to indicate NECROSIS, which is usually a complex problem that results in the burning up of the plant leaves from between the veins indicating a mobile nutrient deficiency like Potassium or Magnesium; usually the result of a nitrate/calcium imbalance in the soil or as a pH related lock out.

In this specific case the plants are fine. They are hardly even plants yet and they don't need all this GD attention. Water, time, good vibrations, that's all they need and they will be just fine. Obviously watch it on the nutrients, and with any grow, make sure the pH is in line. Don't over water, and keep that light good and close.

Not all that tough when you break it down and understand what it is going one.

Budmizer... That was not very accurate or helpful.

The upward curl on some of the leafs looks like a little heat stress, how close are your CFL's? You need them very close, but you need airflow over the bulbs because they do put off considerable heat and can easily burn or stress the seedlings. also dont water every day, let it dry out quite a bit, it will make them stretch their roots to find water. Lastly, get a digi or analogue soil ph meter. they will run at least 20, but are worth their weight in gold. Most of the problems on here are caused by ph problems

The big girl with the deformity seems to be doing great now. Guess it was just a genetic fuck up. The girl with the brown streaks seems to have improved some after I gave her some diluted nutes and a little foliar spray. The rest seem to be doing good as well. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks Snow. I have never had brown streaks or specks on such young plants, so how do you explain it? It goes beyond "GOOD VIBRATIONS", I wish it were that simple. Seems like all you wanted to do was negate what I wrote, how do explain the brown and curling tips? Not very helpful in your post, it goes beyond positive thinking. I agree they are young, but even babies need attention.

jp...could acidic or alkaline water cause such things? Never looked into it, I havent had the problem with babies.

Good Luck Akay!!

If its to alkaline or acidic it can raise or lower the ph of the soil pretty quickly. My buddy had real hard water out in the desert and it made the soil ph jump like 1.5 points in 4 waterings which is very bad for any plant especially the little ones. And as most people know, unstable soil Ph can lockout certain nutrients, so that shows up as nute def.

I get deformed leaves when my small cuttings experience a really rapid veg growth spurt. It generally resolves itself when the leaves grow to fully-formed and can "unfurl" completely. I read the whole thread -- you seem to know what's up. I think you're gonna be fine!
