I have a fan inside the grow tent, the carbon filter is duct taped to it and then the ducting runs out of the tent and up a chimney just behind the tent.how do I hook up ducting from the my reflector and would I need another fan? I'm sorry if its like wading thru mud tryin to get me to get this but I just can't visualise it
Yup, you would hook another fan up. You don't have to do this if you have enough ventilation from your room. I have no fans hooked up to my lights, but I have a 10" vortex pulling air from a 9x9 tent. I can sometimes get a touch high in temps, but mostly it's good. I live with it.

I only have a 5 inch fan so I guess I'd deffo need an extra one then.praps that's why my temps are so high then,I do have lots of negative pressure tho so I spose it is doing its job.the tent is only 6 foot high and 4 foot wide and deep.

Reflectors are like heat sinks too. They trap heat. I do recommend using a fan if you have one. Reflectors come with attachments to hook up fans. They are obvious.

Get a 6" exhaust fan and run ducting to it. Connect it to your reflector and suck all the heat out. I don't see what's so confusing. The heat rises and gets trapped inside a reflector and it causes the metal to heat up, so it becomes like a big heat sink if you don't vent the heat out of it. It raises your temperatures.
