decision time on strain

Hi all, could anyone give suggestions on wat strain I could opt for.I was interested in the c99bx1 but all seeds seem to be sold out, then I liked the sound of ugorgs killerskunk but I'm worried that my 5 inch carbon filter won't be able to cope with the smell ( I live in a terraced house).im looking for a decent strain with a reasonable yield and 8ish weeks flowering time,oh I'd like to get regular seeds.I have spent over a month trawling seed sites and every time I like the sound of something ,I do some research on it and then find lots of negatives about.praps I'm just over think in it! Someone please please help before I lose the will to live.

Female seeds C99 is a nice version of it. Easy to grow, good uniformity, nice buzz and potency. Decent yield. Finishes pretty quick. You'll like it I think. You'll love it if you don't live in a marijuana mecha with access to anything you possibly could want.

Thanks for all replies,I'm gonna check these out now.ive done just 4 grows and had Hermie issues on the last two,I obviously stressed them but not sure in which way.that's why I was a bit reluctant to use female seeds because I've heard they are more prone to Hermie,or is that a load of bollocks?

There's folks that make good fems and bad fems just like regular seeds. I've had less female seeds hermie on me. Research the breeders that you buy from and it should give you a pretty good idea whether they use proper methods or not.

Could those Hermie issues have come about without me stressing them,I mean could they have been badly bred seed? The strain was crystal by nirvana.im liking what I'm reading about the female seeds c99 tho.thank u for the heads up on it.

They could but if you're a new grower it's best to assume they were caused by you and look for environmental causes i.e. light leaks, heat stress, too much/too little food. Things like that.

Always strive to improve.

It could be the genetics, look into it further and see what other growers have encountered with that strain.

Yes I'm sure I caused the issues in some way,on that last lot I did they started flowering in veggin state, not preflowering now, full flowering, and they were root bound because I was waiting to repot before I put them into flowering.thanks for your help,I'm gonna try my utmost to get it right this time around.the real pisser for me that the first grow I did I did everything wrong,I overfed them, watered before lights out, topped em in flowering, and ended up with 12oz of beautiful stonking bud, begginers luck hey lol.

OK,... The c99 beans arrived, tee hee.i germinated previous seeds in root riot cubes and jiffy pellets.wat would your preferred method of germination be? Are FEMS more picky about germination? I've only used regular seeds in previous in grows.

The germination method is up to you. Some people plant the seed right in the medium without any additional steps. I personally put my seeds in a cup of water for 1-2 days until the shell cracks open and you can see the tap root about to come out. Then I know the seed is good and has "germed" so I plant it into nice damp medium.

Thanks for us input,I've just been reading ur journal Mr head and I have to say u must have the patience of a saint,I would have been throwing myself on the nearest fire if I had to endure the troubles you come up against! Beautiful plants, hats off to you sir!

Mr Head is very experienced...he is also very patient, which a lot of people don't seem to be when it comes to growing :)
I recently attempted to germ about 60 seeds, i ended up with only 11 that sprouted. Ive now learnt that a humidome is not needed for seeds lol. I now do what Mr Head does, in a shot glass in a warm spot for 24-48 hrs and then into the medium ;)

Good work mate, as long as you can keep the shot glass in a warm dark spot it should work well. My other method is using paper towel, in a zip lock bag and kept on top of my fish tank light ;) it keeps it just over 24 degrees celcius so nice and warm, they usually pop within 24 hrs!
If you want to test the shot glass method out first, try find some other seeds and see if they sprout, if they work, you should be good to go!
This site can be really great, there are a lot of very experienced growers only too happy to help, it's the people that come on here with an attitude that get shot down quickly lol. You asked genuine questions so we are here to help :) i hope it all works out well for you mate!

Oops, first mistake made,I popped sum very old seeds into a glass but they are next to the microwave in kitchen,so,not dark or warm,I'll try again cos I have a load of old bagseed, mind u they may not be viable but its fun to practice.I've put some in rootriot cubes\jiffy pellets and water method, just to see wat gave the best results,I'll shall add the tissue method to my little experiment lol.thank u eastcoastmo

Hello friends, please could u help me with this question,... My c99 beans all sprouted yippee,now,..I struggle terribly with high temps(not at the moment but in prev grows) I have read about cool tubes and vented hoods but for the life of me I can't make sense of them,I read about fans suckin and blowing, and ducting and outside air,I am absolutely baffled.could u explain it in simple terms,I'm not a numbnut,honestly...lol.

You simply hook ducting up to your reflector with an appropriate sized fan to exhaust hot air from your grow area - hopefully somewhere that won't influence your grow environment.

I have a fan inside the grow tent, the carbon filter is duct taped to it and then the ducting runs out of the tent and up a chimney just behind the tent.how do I hook up ducting from the my reflector and would I need another fan? I'm sorry if its like wading thru mud tryin to get me to get this but I just can't visualise it
