What's up everybody, thanks for the good words! Just been really busy here lately and haven't had a lot of time to get on. I need to get a new journal/blog/whatever they're calling it now going, I already have a decent amount of pics to throw up on it.

I've got a whole new crop going again of course, yes Highlander pretty much all the phenos from last time except for the 1 ISSxHB that went hermie. Going to try everything again from clone and without being seeded and see what happens. I already found out that the ISSxHB#2 suuuuucks to clone! Out of 3 cuts only 1 took, and it was the bottom cut. The 2 top cuts from the plant just rotted. Strange, because all the other phenos just rocked at rooting, whether it was from the top or the bottom of the plant. Just goes to show you what big differences there are in different phenos, and that you don't get a chance to see them until you grow em out for a cycle or two. Every other clone rooted in 5 days flat, with crazy roots at 8 days. Not too shabby.

Hmmmmmm, so you're pretty far into town there huh Highlander? That's an awesome history you have there with 'your mountain' there, but I warn you I'm planning future trespasses as we speak! haha I wonder what's going to happen to my grandmother's place on Pearl street when she goes, she's in really bad health from what I hear. Not that I want her to go or anything I guess that sounded kinda bad. But that is such a crazy old house. All the rest around it are rented out to college kids with dreads and patchwork pants. lol

Yeah I use the 1.7G pots or whatever they are (they're actually hydro buckets, I know that) whenever the plants are big enough to warrant their use. This time I got lazy though and kept about 9 in the smaller little black pots which I think are half a gallon. But if I have time/room/dirt/patience enough I use the bigger pots. Sure makes watering an easier task all the way through flower!

I'm hot! Really hot!!! Send me a fan or something! ha

Oh right, your grandmother. Gotcha now. When I was in my early 20s four or five close friends and I rented a house about 6 blocks south of Pearl on Maple( not the upper section where all the rich out of state college kids roomed, where by the way pretty much all my stuff goes or so I'm told ;) , but the lower section close to all the bars. You've seen the movie Animal House....Well that was us lol.

Nice, toga toga! lol

You know, I'm kinda embarrassed here...I just checked and my grandmother actually lives on N. 'U' St., about 1 block from Pearl. So I guess that's where I saw all the mega-hippies and Phish kids. ha

From what I remember I really liked the hilliness of Winooski, and that's where my dad grew up while in high school.

Hey is that alternative station 100x or whatever still operating? I think it was 99.9 or something...they played some really good 90's alternative back in the, well the 90's. hahaha It's prob gangsta rap now or something.

Hey bro you should PM me your # sometime!

Empty jars and harvest is still 2 weeks away.....at least the few buds that I have left have a 6 week cure on em. Ha ha and I'm so broke right now that I cant even afford bubble bags off from ebay....and I have about a years worth of sugar leaves saved :) . Somehow I have the money to make the trip up to Ricks in a few min though lol.

No Union and Pearl intersect. Ex wife's grandmother lived there before she died.

I lived in Win for seven years before my bachelor career ended.

99.9 is still doing pretty much the same gig that they were doing in the 90s

Got to make the trip to Ricks....that shouldnt take more than a few lol

Yeah that's what I'm saying, she lives on 'U' St. about a block off Pearl.

Out of smoke?! Damn brother, you need to swing down here then cause it's never dry here at the wastelands! lol

Nice looking garden Dc, and nice journal
Thanks bro, glad to have ya swing by!

Well this plant/strain definitely yielded the best out of everything that came out of the garden this round (as I've heard others say before). I would guess around 2 zips total for the 1 plant, but I'll have to post the weight later after it's done drying.

I let this girl go for 9 solid weeks to the day. Probably could have let it go for another week and had more yield, but I checked the trics and they were exactly where I wanted them so that's why it got the cut. 90% milky and 10% amber trics.

I really like the bud structure and the yield of course, but this strain grows almost exactly like a damn tomato plant. The stems/stalks are thin and not anywhere near strong enough to support the weight it puts on. The internodal spacing is wide, but since it has so many branches going everywhere it doesn't necessarily cause any problems. The hardest things to manage are the spindly stalks and the random, extreme branching that makes it a straight clusterfuck inside the plant. But if you put up with all this stuff and grow her well, the SSH will produce a high yield of dense, sativa nuggets that look delicious.

I'll let everyone know what it's like once I get to smoke it!
well spoken, i do believe we have the same super silver haze. looks exact, yours does appear to have more trichombs...this may be due to genetics/growing, i do put ssh at the far corners of the grow room. she just grows uncontrollably. i like to keep one ssh around for yield, i sell a little here and there to friends....give a little away to family/friends here and there. this is the only plant i keep a mother so that i can keep clones goin out too, lots of people always want clones....ssh clones easy! looking real good man. what was dry weight in grams? i think ssh lacks in thc when compared, what do you think?

hey typically i take the males out of the flower room and grow them under low lights, just enough to get some pollen...do you think i should treat them as if they were females to get the best pollen? how important is this in your opinion?

also, what is your view on bottom feeding?

Well, my SSH cut yields pretty well...I got 42.3 grams total off of the only one that I had in there last cycle. As far as potency goes, I think it's medium-high in strength. Everyone else that has got some of it says that its a great buzz and really strong to them. But hell I smoke so much everyday that it takes a really strong strain to put me on my ass. But since mine is totally tric'd out maybe that's why mine's stronger?

Honestly, I think I have growing it pretty much down now, it's just the trimming that's a super mega biatch. But my girl usually does that for me to help out cause she knows I hate doing it. I just let it stretch for about 1-2 weeks at the start of flower, then I take 2 of the big 4' plastic green stakes and stick em into the pot on opposite sides of the plant sorta forming a 'V'. Then I take that green garden tie stuff and make loops around the plant and the stakes. Also, if there are any taller colas then I tie them to the stakes with some garden ties. Oh and talk about easy to clone! Sheeesshh, I could've planted the clones I took into pots after 3 days in the dome! I had 'seeker' roots at 2 days.

Here lately I've been alternating smoking between the 4 different phenos of ISSxHB that I have, one being the really strong one that I love. Then I had about 3/4 of an oz of Hashberry and 3/4 of an oz of Super Skunk from last time. And of course the 42.3 grams of SSH from that one plant as well. Oh shit plus the two different phenos of the AK47's that I had going.

As far as that goes, yeah males grown under HIDs are def gonna grow better/lusher/faster and produce much more pollen. Whether or not the lesser amount of pollen produced by a male grown under poor lighting conditions is also overall less viable is a great question that unfortunately I can't answer for ya. haha But even if it is, as long as you get enough pollen to breed with I don't think it'd matter that much either way really.

Ah bottom feeding, the lazy way to water that totally makes sense yet somehow never really works as well as you'd want it to. I dunno, did you figure it out? I half tried it once and just wasn't impressed. But I like the lesser amount of effort for sure!

yes the yield of ssh is great but the smoke isnt top shelf imo. ive also heard lots of people are wanting to get there hands on it...maybe someone is growing it better than i can....or outdoors? i would like to breed my trainwreck x early skunk with the super silver haze....strengthen the skunk genes. we will see how that goes. i am also planning on breeding two master kushs...and backcrossing bk x mbs with bk. check out the group posts....did you catch my update?

in your opinion, i shouldnt be "not getting the best out of my plants genetics" if i were to grow under low lighting conditions, correct? im not concerned with harvesting large amounts of pollen but good quality pollen instead. i have grown males under poor lighting conditions and have received viable pollen...just not sure if it would have spread bettter genes or what not. give me some ideas on which you would breed. my strain collection is shown in the group posts "breeders"

oh and bottom feeding works great...just have to give it an hour or so....ive also noticed newly transplanted pots take longer. i guess being that soil isnt compact water has a harder time finding its way up capillary lane. im digging it, ive just lost alot of height in my grow room. now i have to remount my lights above the closet hanger to gain another 12-18 inches.. so what are your next plans?
