Days flowering terminology...

Today is day 19 of 12/12, although the pistils have really only been prevalent for about 8 days. Should I consider my plants to be in day 19 of flower or day 9? I'm not being impatient, just wondering as far as stretching. My tallest plant is 21" from the light, and I'd like to keep it no closer than that, however my light is about 22" from the ceiling...I am growing golden goat, blue dream, afghani #1 and holy grail 69, just wondering if I should expect less than 22" inches more of stretch? If so, is it too late into flowering to do more super cropping?

Did you read the whole thing or just stop at the 19 or 9 part because you've been asked this so many times? I assure you I read the stickies and didn't see anything on this subject. And since everywhere else on the Internet has a different answer I figured I'd ask on here. Believe me I tried every other source I could before posting here because I knew there would be some dick trying to be cute and quippy and look cool to all these people they will never meet in real life. Kudos, you sure showed me that it's not ok to not know everything about growing cannabis BEFORE joining an informative online cannabis growing forum. Some people use these sites to learn, not everyone uses online forums to anonymously throw shade at people who in real life would leave their teeth in the gutter. So sorry to have wasted so much of your time, hope I didn't ruin your day.

Now that is a response worthy of praise lol. Like Velvet Elvis said, "most people count from the day of flip". But it obviously makes no difference when you start counting the days, you still want to chop according to the maturity of the trichs.

First off...Herban Legend, I am not really sure why that pissed me off so bad, but that was a total overreaction, my bad.

Secondly, this has nothing to do w trichomes, harvesting, how close am I, etc. I clearly stated this has to do w how much more stretching I should expect as far as space concerns go.

If they start to give you trouble just grab that branch and break it. Have you read about supercropping? If theyre too tall break em over. Then you might need to tie the breaks down to stop them from going back up but most of the time theyll stay down. Also if you call any seed company theyll tell you days of flower is from the day you flip the lights to 12/12.

then to really answer that if u are in day 19 after seeing the first signs of preflowers or hairs. U should be done with the stretch. Best of luck!!

Yes I had super cropped but I quit a few days before I flipped. I thought about super cropping again, but I didn't know if manipulating the plants this far into 12/12 would be too much to overcome.

I measured the plants this morning and they have only grown about an inch in the last three days, as opposed to an inch per day before that so hopefully the stretch is over and I can leave my light be! Thanks for all the help and sorry for the blow up.

Here is growth cycle of marijuana:

Germination stage - 1-7 days
Seedling stage ---- 1-2 weeks
Vegation Stage - - 1-3 mo's (60 days is norm)
Pre-flower Stage - 1-2 weeks
Flower Stage - -- 1-4 mos' (2 months being the average) (some can go for 4 months, these are 100% Sativa strains)
Harvest !!!!!!!!
Many but in flower stage when plant is 12-16 inches tall (generally takes 30 days in flower to achieve) due to strain
