Day 6 flower yellow dying leaves!!

Hi everyone I have 2 ladies on their 6th day of flower, one is a blue dream and one is a critical plus. The bottom leaves are starting to yellow and become very weak and fall off, when i turn the yellow leaf over and look at the back it looks like the color has been stripped out of the leaf. However, the upper part of them are not really having an issue. They are under a 300w cfl and a 125w clf, so 425w of cfl. I've been giving them nutes everytime I water them (everyday) because one time when I gave them only ph correct distilled water they seemed not to take to it well, and the next day when I gave them the nutes they bounced back, so I just continued giving them nutes. When I water the blue dream it seems to come out of the bottom of the pot quickly, maybe 30 seconds after I put it in there. This is what I am using:

Tent: 2x4x5
Nutes: FF Grow Big, FF Big Bloom, FF Tiger Bloom
Soil: FF Ocean Forest

When I switched over to the flower nutes (FF Tiger Bloom+FF Big Bloom) the Tiger Bloom had made the PH levels drop all the way to about a 3. So I have to add quite a bit of PH up to get it back to 6.5 or so. After I started giving them the Tiger Bloom is when all the yellowing of the leaves started. Also, some leaves aren't yellowing but are curling in like a hot dog.

If anyone knows what the problem might be any info will help. :weed:

alot of times going from veg nutes to bloom they have less nitrogen so bottom leaves yellow and die, cut dead leaves off and see what happenes. sometimes its also because the light doesnt reach the bottom leaves. check your ph make sure they are absorbing the nutes you are giving them. sometimes if you flushed also they have a lack of butes.

I didnt flush. this is my first grow and everytime I pull of a leaf the next one up gets yellow. its been doing it since flower. how do i check if my plant is absorbing the nutes? I kno that im only giving them the correct ph water.

Those are your bottom leaves. Dont even worry about it. Those are going to slowly die off the further into flowering you get, due to a lack or nitrogen. As long as the middles and the tops look healthy, then your good to go man.

If your determined to add something... then add General Organics CaMag+ at 5ml per gallon and you'll get extra nitrogen, along with some well needed magnesium and calcium.

Thanks. im gonna go get that. The tops and middle looks really healthy. Do you know if this is ok? I got my plants with 30-35% humididty with lights on and when they go lights off I zip it up and close my closet door (cause im scared of light leaks) but leave the fans inside going and a 6 inch duct fan pulling the air out and the humidity is at like 60% when i open it back up to turn the lights on. Is this ok?

Hey,

Its normal for bottom leaves to fall off or turn yellow when the plants mature. Because they have done their job and they are ready to pass now, Not to mention they hardly get any light once the plants get big, there for not enough light justifys them to be done. No big deal. It will happen. And they will be fine. Maybe add some cal mag at 1 tbls a Gallon and make sure they dont get nute lock or anything

A nitrogen deficiency effects the bottom of the plants first. As you move further into flowering, your going to give your plants less nitrogen and more Phosphorus and Potassium. So the bottom leaves will be the first to go. You want to deprive your plants of nigrogen to get bigger bud growth. Nitrogen influences leaf growth, so unless you want some leafy bud, you go easy on the nitrogen. So you do in a sense derive your plant. So dont worry about those bottom leaves at all.

30-35% humidity is fine, but if you want some faster grow, the try to get your humidity up to at least 45% for veg. Once you get into flowering, then you can lower it some, to get a higher resin content.

The humidity difference wont cause any noticeable damage, but you could get powdery mildew at 60% at nights. Thats the only bad thing I can see. I would try and keep it under 50% at all times.

i have a seperate veg box. i keep them at like 60% in veg. Its just my flower that im worried about. cause when the lights go out the humidity rises. would this cause bud rot? whats a way to de humidify my tent? I could only spend like 50 bucks.

You'll get dead leaves near the bottom all the time the taller the plant
the less light they get especially with cfl's some HID lighting penetrates
deeper down the plant but not much you can do but watch it get worse as
the plant ages~

Supchaka, if my leaves are not supposed to be falling off then what is causing the yellowing?? The last 6 days I've pulled around 2-3 leaves off each plant. Also can anyone comment on whether my humidity is ok?

Your humidity is fine dude.... if you dont want bottom leaves falling off, then feed them stronger. You gotta feed heavy if the bottom leaves are important to you.

For your first attempt, you're doing great. The girls look pretty healthy. I think your problem lies in your watering and feeding schedule. The biggest mistake that many first time growers make is over-watering. It's important to allow the soil to dry sufficiently before re-watering. You want the roots to search for water and you want to prevent root rot, molds and fungus at all costs.
If I might offer another suggestion. Don't switch to flower/bloom nutrients immediately after 12/12 begins. Plants will grow rapidly the first couple weeks of flowering and during this "stretch" the plant will use up much of its stored Nitrogen. I would suggest that you wean your plants off of Nitrogen slowly to prevent premature yellowing. I don't switch to bloom nutrients, until the plants have stopped growing, usually the second or third week of 12/12.
