Day 55 Flower

Hello all, so first off I want to say this is not my grow it's my fathers legal MM grow and its his first time so im trying to help him gather the info he needs. He has 4 plants that have been in flower now for 55 days and he has a few questions. I do wanna add that these plants were saved from almost certain death when they were originally trying to flower. They were then re-veged and it has been quite a battle. He fought off mites and gnats, deficiencies and toxicities. Now he is wonder if what is happening to the plants is a normal process. The seeds were unknow bagseed and again they are on day 55F now every morning he goes to look at the plants there are new yellow leaves or the leaves that were yellow the day before are now shrivling and dying. The trichs are about 60% cloudy and the pistils are all changing colors slowly but surely. He started the flush 3 days ago and waters until theres runoff about every three days. Is it nirmal in this phase to see all this death of fan leaves? And if so should he be cutting the fan leaves off once they have turned completely yellow? Any input is appreciated! Thank you!

Im gunna shorten this up a bit and reclarify the question. Is it normal for a decent amount of fan leaves to turn yellow and fall off in late flower with about 2 weeks left till harvest? Sorry for the book above.

From all the articles I've read it seems that is to be expected. I'm not 100% what week but I read about all the energy draining from the leaves to increase bud growth. I am not experienced however as I am only on my first grow and haven't gotten to that part yet.

Well I just had my 1st grow and it was VERY successful.... But my plants did not turn yellow and die like you are saying your plants are doing.... But I did a 10 day flush.... my buddy dose a 2 week flush and he tells me his leafs die tords the last week because the plant is only getting water.... So your case of only 3 days of flush.... I would say this is not normal and you have more problems.... post some pics of these plants and you will get some well needed help from the pros on this site.

You need to post pics, worth a bunch. Why are you flushing if your growing in soil? Do they flush tobacco before harvest or peppers or anything thing else that comes to mind? Not to be confrontational but I'd like to know why.

Well flushing is normal From what I know.. And I know many very good growers.... the reason you flush is to clear out all of the nutes your plant has been up taking.... Don't want some bud that tastes like fertilizer....

Pretty normal for the larger fan leaves to yellow and fall late in flower. It's the plant putting everything it's got into the last push for making seeds.

The leaves on plants will turn yellow and die when there is no nutrition available in the substrate. So yes it's normal for plants to die when you take their food away.
