Day 35 of Flower ?When to flush?

Those are great looking plants that show no signs of needing to be flushed. If you are referring to a pre-harvest flush thats just forum BS. I would just keep doing what your doing right up to the end. Just cut back you nutes some the last few weeks and you should have a happy harvest.

I hear you flush 2 weeks before harvest but I am sure someone with more knowledge will chime in and explain better

When the trichomes are about 50-75% milky is what I usually shoot for. You don't want too do it too oon and starve your girl for 2-3 weeks before harvest. Try to time it so you have 5-7 days before chopping. Not always an easy thing too accomplish. But if you are like me, I check my triches daily. is that a nirvana wonder woman strain? if so, she may have a while to go. ive got 5 going at almost 8 weeks into flowering...no signs of slowing yet. all milky/clr trichomes, all white pistils, new pistols coming, and the tops ( which are HUGE) are starting to form, ...idk how to technically call it,...multi-bud areas. ..as for flushing, im just tapering down nutes, and when the trichomes are how i want, ill quick flush, and harvest...im in soil tho...what about you?

Lmao Hey thanks for all the help. I check every day (more than once). I have no idea what strain it is. I grabbed 7 seeds that I've had for over 6 years and grew them. To the best of my knowledge the seeds came from kentucky when I lived there. If that is the case then most likely it is an outdoor strain. 2 died young, 4 were males and this is my only girl. I think it is a indica strain. Wow sooo dank when gently squeezed. This is my experiment before I got some really good clones. I figured what the hell it might be better to learn somethin before I screwed up the good stuff. With this you guys know as much about her as I do. I have learned just about everything I know from this site. bkbbudz thanks for your support I have talked with you before.

Flushing....

Theres different reasons one would do this to their plant, now y?

One, either they burnt their plant or nute lockup. once you notice you plants is showing signs of problems to flush her down. For Ex. 3 gallon pot use 3 gallon+ of distilled ph'ed water.

Two, You are switching from youre Vegin nutes to more of a bloom nutes. so about a week before you switch your bitch to 12/12 you flush her and let the soil get nice and dry then once you flip u can start with the bloom schedule.

Three, You are about to Harvest your plant. The last two weeks is when you want to flush her. get all the chemicals from the soil out. Then once you have done that and have you plant right were you want it to be. flushed/trichomes look good/ buds look nice and dense. Before you cut her down leave the lights off for 48 hours then turn them on check out the awesomeness. They will put everything they have into the buds.

From my understanding you want to flush 7 to 10 days before harvest as to FLUSH all chems out to produce a better taste. My question is how can you tell when 7 to 10 before harvest is? This was bagseed and I have no idea what kind or strain it is. Indica I think.

Wouldn't you taste the nutrients in the final product?
Galderman to figure out when you are close to harvest first u got by how many days it has been in flowering stage. So u said 30+ days which means they shoould have about 2-3 more weeks to go. usually it takes about 8 weeks to flower 10 if its sativa. Then when you get close to those days u check the trichomes with a handheld microscope. 10x + is what u should get. Check the trichomes and if they are all cloudy and some are amber you are good to go. Also you wont be able to see any calyx cause they will be swallowed up by the swelling bud. once your plants is super close to harvest flush it out with awhole lot of water. Let it dry out which should be about a week. then do it again. this should take out all the chemicals in there and the final product would taste and smell better. thats if u dry and cure right.

The calyxes are the buds. And OP the plant material does not contain chemicals or any other compounds that can be flushed out. The pre harvest flushing ritual is nothing but cannabis forum bs. Its the drying and curing process after harvest that ultimately dictates how your bud will smoke and taste. Also it takes a 30x or stronger scope to see your trichomes.

To the OP, pay no attention to the troll, I took him to school last night and he is lashing out like a kicked dog.
I asked you in a PM to share with me exactly how you 'took ME to school' and no reply. But if it makes you feel better about yourself telling folks then thats fine. I have always been one to help the mentally handicapped....

i don't flush. i agree with cowboy. common sense tells me there is nothing to flush. whatever nutrients we give to the plants are for the most part used by the plant. i don't use a shitload of nutrients either. just every other week or so.
your girl looks like she could easily go several more weeks. as you grow your first plant you will wanna chop asap, i know i did it. but just a piece of advice, wait as long as you can :peace:

Trial and error. Experience. Noone can easily explain to you when 10 days before harvest is unless they are well versed with the plant and phenotype in question.

I do not flush either. I find no difference in quality between the two. It's one of those things you'll just have to decide for yourself. Some people swear by it, some people swear against it.

It seems that this is the only website the advocates NOT flushing. Jorge Cervantes flushes, Ed Rosenthal flushes, Green House Seed Co flushes. Everyone with incredible experience with growing FLUSHES.

It gets out the salt buildup in the rootzone before flipping them and it gets rid of the nutrients stored in the leaves and roots before harvesting.

WHEN - as soon as the trichs are 75% milky and the hairs are turning red on the top 30% of the plant.

I flush for 2 -3 weeks and starve the shit out of my plants. I want them to suck the nutrients from the leaves until the leaves turn anywheres from red to yellow.
I also use tapwater with a ph of 8 to lockout any nutrients that they could absorb from the soil.

I use 3 gallon buckets, so I run 9 gallons of un-ph'ed tapwater through them. I do this every 4-5 days for 2 weeks then use ice-cold water to shock the roots and make the plant force out every last trichome to protect itself. I leave it in the dark for the last 7 days.

If using organic soil, flush the morning the day before harvest to ensure just water uptake with no nutrients. The plant will absorb nutrients from the soil if able too. I dont allow that at all. Heres my results:
Incredible smell and taste.
Incredible crystal content - 20% more.
Incredible smoothness within a week of curing.
It brings out the true flavor of your buds with no interferance.

Some of these pics are pre-flush, just before the week of darkness, and after the flush/week of dark, at harvest.
Pic 1 - this is when I start my flush.
Pic 2 - after the flush and dark.
Pic 3 - before the flush
Pic 4 - look at those crystals from a finished, tiny, bottom-most nugget!!!!!!!!! Should have seen the top!!! LOVE the ice cold water and darkness TRICK!!!!
Pic 5 - Tastes like it should.
Pic 6 - During a flush. The leaves are turning yellow. About 2 weeks left.
Pic 7 - Trichs should look like this before the flushing begins.
Pic 8 - Who says the buds dont grow without stuffing them with nurients? BS. I always get monster buds.
Pic 9 - Proof is in the finished product. If you dont flush, The Purps turns black and wont burn in a joint. It tastes like shit and burns hot.
Pic 10 - Heres my Purple Kush hybrid. The biggest yielding kush strain Ive ever seen to date. Week 1 of flushing. The leaves turn color for lack of nutrients but the buds look nicer than ever.

Wow lots of differing opinions here, I wish I had another plant to do it both ways and see. Thanx again soo much for all the info. I believe that I am 2 1/2 weeks from d day. The first one really tests one patience. Everything looks so good right now, I am just a little aprehensive about the final product. would hate to screw it up after all of the work I have put into it.

Then listen very carefully to my instructions and you will be fine. After following my list of instructions, trim the plant well then hang dry in a dark place with just a little airflow. Hang for 5-7 days. When the stalks almost snap in half when bent, its ready for the jars. Dont over pack them. Fill them up loosley. Burp them every day for a week. If they get too wet, keep the jar open overnight in a cool, dark place. Once the plants are jarred for a week you can start to test the smoke. After 2 weeks its ready to smoke. I suggest curing for at least 2 months for optimum potency but if you flushed her according to my directions then 2 weeks is fine for a cure if you cant wait a month or two. If you dont flush it well your weed will taste like shiznit when you smoke it in 2 weeks. It wont burn, and the ash will be like black charcoal. YUK! FLUSH WELL! Happy Flushing..............
