DARN SPIDER MITES!!!

So I got some clones from someone I’ve gotten clones from before. Last clones were good, no problems at all. This time, totally different. They looked bad from the start. Never seen clones with such a long stalk before. Anyway, I figured I could nurse them back to health, which I did, but I noticed they had these little white speckles all over the leaves. I didn’t think anything of it because I’ve never ran into bug issues until now. Well I tried to clone them just so I could start them out with a healthy life, needless to say the clones never rooted, and the white speckles were even showing on new growth, that’s when I knew something wasn’t right. So I pulled off a fan leaf, looked at its underside with my loupe, and sure enough, eggs and mites!!! Son of a b$&@!. I immediately panicked because I thought they may have infested my entire tent, but luckily there’s no sign of them anywhere else ( fingers crossed). They weren’t close to any other plants, because I was skeptical from the start, so I hope that helped keep them isolated. So it’s safe to say I think I’m done getting clones from people, because you don’t know what their grow environment is like, it’s cleanliness and up keep. I’ll stick to seeds and keeping moms around to clone from myself like I’ve always done. Anybody else ran into this..... Here’s the pictures of them. Sorry I couldn’t get close enough pics of the mites and eggs because I couldn’t get my camera in line with the loupe, but trust me, they were there.

I got the stupid things last grow, I tried neem oil with some success. The best thing I've found is a good fan. I heard they can't lay their eggs in the wind. Not sure if that's why but a fan really works!! I don't like chemicals on my weed!!

I feel you on the chemical thing. Yea I’ve got a stationary, oscillating and my exhaust running 24/7. That’s why I opted to just throw them away. They were only a couple weeks into flower and probably wasn’t gonna yield that much anyway. I guess there’s a first time for everything. Being that I’m strictly indoor and try my best not to bring anything into my grow environment, I never actually considered the fact that clones would end up being the culprit. I have nothing against clones, I actually prefer them over seeds, but I think I’ll stick to my own clones from here on out.

Well the darn mites have gotten worse. Looks like cob webs on my lower buds, not much at the tops. Clipped all the fans where I physically see them, but I’m sure they’re everywhere, just damage control more than anything. Have no choice but to just let let the plant finish. Still have about 2-3 weeks left before harvest. Have some serious infection control ahead of me for both tents. Gonna completely dismantle my tents, light, fan, everything, and clean the hell out of it, cords and all. Repeat cleaning steps 2-3 times outside and out of the room my tent is in. I’ll be damned if this happens again. 10+ yrs of growing and not once have I EVER had a bug problem. No more outside clones for me.
