Black I think its always easier to do stuff in a larger space then trying to do something with no space. At least with a larger tent you the ability to do more things and grow bigger plants. You should really weigh your options before gettting a tent and what size tent you want. I didnt weigh my options because I am limited on space living in a 1 bedroom apt. I wish I would of gotten a 4x4x7, its only two more feet and if I would have that two more feet on depth and height I would be able to do a lot more and have plenty of room for flowering. I just changed my tent to flowering and I am worried cause my plant vegged for 56 days and my plant is 15" tall and I might have to do some LST cause I wont have the space because of my light. Just keep in mind bro even though the tent is 5' tall almost a 1 1/2' is taken up by my cool tube...So I really only have about 3 1/2' of space. If i would of measured out the 4x4x7 in my bedroom I would of purchased that one instead of my 4x2x5. When I get another tent I will take the one I have now and set it up in my closet cause it will fit in there, thats a benny for having a small tent too....Good luck and keep us posted on your set up and what you go with bro.Great photos. Wow. Do you think a 2x4 is big enough to grow 4 plants with a ebb n flow hydro setup? I'm debating on going bigger but I'm afraid too big the operation will be too obstructive and difficult.
Eyez,Yes BeKind, I totally feel you on the fish tank being therapeutic. I'll sneak in a pic of it among my future grow pics, lol. I want 2 tents so I can go perpetual!! So ya, my list on paper looks like:
-a Phantom Ballast,
-HydroHut Silver Edition tent, 4x4x (7 or 8, can't remember how tall it ...using HydroHut because it seems to be the only tent company who acknowledged the toxic off-gassing thing that I initially posted about.
-600w Hydrofarm Radiant, I may get a MH conversion bulb and veg in there too if I can't get a good veg room somewhere else.
-400cfm inline fan, active air, (anyone think 400cfm is too much for a tent? Given my primary concern was the toxic off-gassing of a plastic tent, I wanted to error on the side of safety seeing as how 1 fan would be handling exhaust, light cooling, and air filtration )
-an appropriately sized carbon filter depending on the size of my inline fan.
-AND now I'm still contemplating getting an intake fan just from what I read on the hydro hut link ( http://www.hydrohuts.com/Faq.html ), Still looking for more input on this matter tho.
-In addition, I'm planning on using CANNA nutrients, Ideally the whole line if I can afford it, tho I may skip something till round 2 to save money.
I can't wait to put my order in!!!! Obviously I'll keep y'all posted!
I just put my tent into Flowering 4 days ago, with the weather being an issue here in Cali its has been reaching 98F outside so I have to kick my A/C on and I use that 4" booster fan pulling cool air into my tent keeping temps in my tent @ 76.8F 29%rH. My plants are starting to strecth too, I feed them using "Make It Rain" so these are some pic of them sleeping...Hopefully in a couple more days I will find out there sex. I also have a DinaFem Auto Haze going 24/0 on CFLs. When that starts Flowering I am going to put it into the tent as well so it can exploded. I also included a pic of a plant I top'd.Ya no prob, glad it can be of use to you. I am going pass on the intake fan for now and see how it goes. and FOR THE RECORD....I did some serious due diligence when tent shopping and I have decided that the SILVER EDITION HYDROHUT is for sure the tent to go with. It was the most expensive tent I found at $350, but I weighed pro's and con's, did all the grener's reviews, and when I put my order in,( YES, MY ORDER IS IN!!!!!!!! 2 MORE DAYS!) the 20yr+ owner of my local garden store said that this "was a great tent, not made of flimsy cheap plastic like the others, and its got a removable floor piece that comes out for easy clean if you spill anything".
So for all tent shoppers, I am recommending spending the extra $100 and get the Silver Edition. Not to be an elitist, but think about it, items that cost less do so because they are inferior....I will cheap out on my shampoo and laundry detergent....not on my cannabis, lol.
Thanks maui, if you dont mind me calling you that short for your name? I actually wanted to wait 2 more weeks before putting my larger plant aka MamaDude(bgseed), into flowering. What worried me was the unknown of how much more it grows when flowering. My tent is small and my light is large so I dont have too much space inside. This is my 1st ever grow and the reason I am LSTing the other plant which is under a CFL is to learn how to Lst a plant and see if I can do it. Also there is a small plant I top'd which I never done before and wanted to see if I can learn that too. I am doing all this really for my next grow. I am going to focus on 1 plant and with what I learned from this grow I am going to Veg the crap out of that next grow and if it gets too big, I will be able to bend it and LST it so it can get even bigger. I am trying to teach myself about how to get maximum use out of the small space I have. I want to try to also learn how to SuperCrop too n SOG.your going to be getting a happy load worth of buds off your biggest since you waited the perfect amount of time to flower. looking good, and why did you train the plant in the first pic?
