Dank shit, just by looking at seeds?

Is there anyway to tell if you got some dank shit just by looking at seeds? For instance, refer to the pictures below.


These which appear to be all brown in color are what I usually see as bag seed or just regular Mids.


These however have dark markings or black stripes covering the seeds which are usually found in higher quality strains a.k.a Dro(white widow, diesel, ak47, etc.).


PS: Sorry about the bad illustrations. :mrgreen: Couldn't find a good quality picture of both.

the color of the seed varies from strain to strain..the lighter colored white/tan/light brown tend to be under matured seeds..while darker one's with the tiger stripping are usually seeds from buds that have been taken to full maturity...az

Well I ask because I have only ever gotten ahold of some "tiger" seeds from this purple mids I smoked. I planted the seed and by all means it was the sexiest sprout I have ever seen lol It was covered in what appeared to be white crystals.

Dro is not a strain it is a way in which cannabis is grown.

I know a guy that reckons it's possible to tell what sex a plant will be just by looking at the seeds and the marking on them, ideally he suggests that the larger, darker seeds with a black dot/marking that stands out at one end will be female plants.

Any truth to that? or is it just something that has worked well for him due to luck?
I'm only a newbie to growing, so I don't have any reason to disagree with him but I'm interested as to what some of you can add to it

You and everyone who says that is wrong and makes themselves sound stupid when they say that. Aside from that, It's weird that you're already seeing crystals on a sprout. If it looks good keep it and see what happens.

I've heard that you can sex seed by look on the "bottom" seed, or at the base. It should have a small demple if it's female. If not, it's a male. i don't know if I believe this, and I haven't conducted any tests, but I'm curious to find out. It seems like that would just have to do with how it came off the plant.

Yeah thats what I thought. It was my fav. plant. I was planning on keepin it regardless of sex, just because well lol it looked cool. Someone stole it over my 5 foot plant. :-?

i can guarantee that if you are seeing crystals on a seedling then you may have a problem. If it isnt a problem then i can assure you that its not resin or THC

'Luv2Blaze89' grow the tan stripy seeds, they are most mature and will be mostly guaranteed to sprout. Also they tend to consist of the better strains these days. Cheers

Agree with 'doitinthewoods'. You wont be seeing any crystals on a seedlings matey, maybe some mildew lol :lol:
