Sorry for the lack of updates. Been busy. I have to get the ladder in there to measure exactly how tall the plants are but the pineapple expresses and grapefruit are pushing 9' with good width. Next week I'm going to get in there and do some serious pruning. I've only got a few feet left of clearance on the "greenhouse", so I've got to decide if I want to take the top off the greenhouse, or start feeding the plants gravity/bushmaster.

Here's an updated pic of one of the pineapple expresses.

bubba kush x old time moonshine - got this one under control pretty good now. It's really filling out nicely now that I broke/bent/tied down the tops.

Dan, Maybe I missed it but I only remember one pic of the Purple Maroc in the garbage can from a few weeks back. Have you finished with it yet and if so what kind of yield, taste, quality etc. did it offer? I have a mother and a several copies (indoor and outdoor) that are a few weeks out from being done. I have plans on doing some breeding with this strain due to it's "semi-auto" tendencies but still struggling with what I need to cross with. Any input and/or pics would be much appreciated.

I'm still vegging it. I'll take a few pics of it later in the week for you.

IMO semi-auto tendencies = extremely sensitive and not suitable for indoor growing. I'll be breeding it with jack herer and arcata trainwreck, but I'm not going to do it indoors at all. Next year I'll see if I've got a more stable cross of it that still retains it's positive qualities.

As for what to breed it ideally, hard to say since I haven't seen it finish. Right now I'd say I'd want to breed it with something more vigorous, that will start growing quicker but still another purple sativa strain since that is one of the appeals of it. There aren't many great purple sativas out there, so if it were me, I'd look for something to retain those qualities. Purple haze comes to mind if you want it to retain it's sativa qualities. Some sort of purple thai might be nice too. Oriential express maybe? (that's the thai from Casey Jones)

On the other hand letting my imagination go for a minute I'll speculate that durban poison, purple diesel, plushberry, gdp, and purple kush might all make interesting crosses, but I can't say for sure without seeing it finish. I've seen pictures of the buds, but I have no idea about the smell, taste, or strength of it so it's tuff to say for sure.

*disclaimer* I'm a total amateur when it comes to breeding.

Without a real-deal lab. and a boatload of controls i don't think any of us in here could really qualify as a "breeder"...yours truly included but I've messed about with a few crosses. I had considered the P. Haze and GDP had come to the top of my list so I may procure that and wait for a good pheno. Despite being a tad difficult to clone (at least this pheno.) it has been rock solid stable so far. Kept them very short and limited the pot size to only a 3 gal. just to prove it could be done despite the claims that it was unreliable indoors. My outdoor girls are starting to gain some steam as 6 footers but are still several weeks away. Enclosing a few pics of the Mom and the 1st clone.

Well so far I've had no issues with light sensitivity on my purple maroc, but that is the rap on the strain. I put mine outside in april, and no reveg or anything. Didn't even sex early. Still doesn't look like it wants to flower. Maybe I shouldn't judge it on it's rep and give it a shot inside.

I'll take cuttings tomorrow for a mom. thx for the info/pics. I'll post updates on mine soon.
