Damned cat!

Just a little story here. My cat got into my grow room during the first week. I usually make sure the doors are closed, but I left it open one day. I had three seedlings in cups. When I returned one cup was empty. I looked and next to the cup, lying on the floor was my poor seedling. As if surgically removed, the root and all. Instead of throwing it away I replanted it, and continued giving it water and light. I am pleased to say it is growing just as well as it's friends. The cat did get his little ass torn and now is frightfully afraid to come anywhere near that space!

my cat ate 3 little plants in a matter of minutes which ended my most recent grow, so your not alone. cats and plants do not mix

Yes I have one houseplant for this very same reason. And I keep a close eye on it. At this point I just prefer to keep that cat afraid of anything green! If he touches any plants hes gonna get it. I dont think he'll be back. However I am not leaving him an open opportunity!

well dont hit the cat, because theyll end up associating your hands with pain and forget that your trying to keep em away from plants

my best advice is to spray him with a bottle if he gets close to the grow space and just as a constant threat put the spray bottle near the growspace pointing towards where the cat would approach

Ah! Don't beat your cats! It's not the cat's fault you left the door open! Though I shouldn't talk, my cat's have been smacked hard a few times for chewing up my plants. I saw on the news the other day, someone had duct taped a cat (for laughs I guess) and thrown it in a random neighborhood. That's just plain wrong. Poor thing couldn't move, was dehydrated. Luckily someone found it and brought it to a vet and it was just fine.

Here's my little lady killers:

I agree. The cat doesn't understand what he/she did. I always have my spray bottle handy, though a few of my cats are used to it and will actually sit there while I soak them.

my dog is retard and ran over my outdoor plant in the pot and all! Knocked it clean out of the pot! I hate my dogs lol. They are so lucky im such a good mommy and they dont show it :-?

Yeah I wont be so hard on him. I usually do have a water bottle on hand. I just kinda snapped and beat his tail. I guess cause how much love went into keeping those little seedlings healthy. I'll have to burn one with him in the end to make it up! Just kidding.

My advice is controversial, but what the hell. It works for my contrarian self.

Feed the cat all the trimmings it wants. The cat gets first crack at all hermies or males.

It took all the mystery out of the grow room for her. Now Prissy glances at it with the feline version of boredom every time she passes by.

It's win-win. She gets all the weed she wants to eat and my grow room is left unmolested.

i heard about that duct taped cat. shit is fucked up. the dude said he did it because the cat wandered into his yard and was meyowing, like cats do. this guy thought taping it up would keep it quiet? id like to get a chance to cover him in a thick layer of duct tape

Planned for everything but the cat. And
he/she only lives with you. lol J/K

This is what i did after finding one of my cats munching on my plants.
This is a closet, and i keep the door open during lights on with this. Open just enough they can't get in, but air can. (No need for stealth).
These days They prefer to watch me bake down.

Everytime I go to check on my girls, Kitty is right behind me. She not realy interested in the plants, more of hiding in between the pots. lol But when I leave so does she, she responds to me yelling "Hey!", and quicly leaves the room. But she normally follows me out on her own free will I also use a spray bottle, but it stays in the kitchen since she has the bad habit of jumping up on the table. BTW she freakin HATES that spray bottle.

Ha thats cool. I like the idea of giving the cat the male plants too! However adding a little security latch is a good idea too. That loser with the duct tape should be arrested.

Is it just me or do a lot of us stoners have cats? Mine will go into the tent any chance they get. One loves to steal bites off the plants when im not looking but the other one is content just sitting and soaking up the "sun" I just dont like them to look in the light I dont think its good for the eyes.

I had a cat that I couldn't keep out of my plants. I got angry and dusted the plants with rat poison. That taught the pussy a lesson.
