Hey everyone hows it goin, hoping someone can help me out I have purchased a 10x39 Phresh filter that I matched up with a 10" hyper fan and when it was delivered I opened it up installed the fan got to the filter and the flange was so bent out of shape I couldn't force the ducting on to it. After reshaping the flange I noticed the body of the filter was beat to hell, several large dents on the body as well as the end caps so I contacted the place I bought it from and they gave me return label as soon as it showed movement they sent me another one.... AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT???? well i got the new one in and this one looks okay except one huge dent in the body that actually is visible on the inside of the filter so my question is.... 1 is this "Normal or acceptable" or should i be returning this one as well, I will upload a pic or 2 tomorrow. I just feel like for 200+ dollars and from what I gathered from my research Phresh filters are supposed to be solid quality. and i don't feel like im getting quality. Also worth it to add the fact that the boxes on both filters were undamaged.

Thanks for your input

I can tell you that is not normal at all. I have many phresh filters, never have got one that was beat up. I've been using phresh/phat exclusively since they came out.
Those filters were treated like shit when shipped, or treated like shit at the store.
Bring that other one back to the store, and open up the next one while in the store in front of an employee before going home wit it. Totally not acceptable.

I'd have to say that its normal. Especially for the larger carbon filters. They are pretty heavy and awkward. Usually the flange is all right, but somewhere in the metal mesh tube is indented. Depending on how bad its indented, it may have significantly hampered its filtering ability.

Off the top of my head on similar sized phat filters I'd say this happened 25 percent of the time not shipped on a pallet.

The first 6x24 I purchased came flawless.

The replacement 6x24 I bought was FUBAR

I knew just by looking at the package whatever was inside would be dented to all hell.

They took it back no questions asked. It was through Amazon prime.

The stores I get my filters from sell allot of filters, and of course they come on pallets from distributor. Maybe that explains why all of the dozens of phresh filters(big ones) i've bought and installed were NOT damaged at all.

Hard to imagine how such a small filter could get damaged, but there must be some angry UPS employees out there?

It looked like someone punted it to my house.

I have ordered one 200 cfm phresh filter from amazon. It was packaged so well. The original sealed box from phresh was packaged within the standard amazon box. Filter had a perfect flange and no dents! Free shipping too, would order again.

that shouldn't affect the filtering though so who cares
If it causes a spot to get thinner the air moves faster because less surface area and reduces effeincy. Also might cause that spot to premature failure. They use a machine to pack it. I wouldn't trust a badly dented one. Why take the risk?
