Cutting Mushroom At base Will Grow New Mushroom?

my uncle once said that if you cut a mushroom at the base where it is growing with a razor blade a new mushroom will grow out from where you cut does anybody know if this is true? has anybody done this before? does it work? will a new mushroom really appear? that is all thankz.

no, it wont, and its a bad idea cutting off mushrooms, as opposed to twisting them off, as the broken off bit left behind, rots and forms a contamination vector.

Not to dis your uncle or anything but it seems to me the older generation relys on many old wives tales in both growing and doing drugs... Hell i can make a list of myths that my dad believes and its stuff thats echoed from my friends mom who is around the same age.

Example: LSD degrades over time....

well this is semi-true. Light and moisture will degrade lsd. Keep it out of light in an airtight container and it has a great shelf life, correct me if i'm wrong.


But today we have the internet back then they just had word of mouth for drug knowledge mostly.

Dont take it for granted that we have the internet.... Its a great wealth of knowledge.
