Cutting From Flower Help?!

Hi

I know that it is possible to take a cutting from a flowering plant and am aware that it must be forced back to the veg cycle, but I was wondering if the fresh cutting must be under 24 hour lighting or can it be 18/6 and still root?

i put mine on 24 lighting

ok and also is it ok to change the lights from 18/6 up to 24 hrs?
