ok i might as well update this and correct it.

each highbay has 4 bridgelux 80 w cobs 4500 k with added reds

they vegged really well..2 basically competed with 1 kw hps..[more or less]

i was able to keep the light as close as 10" and still have a decent spread

i am using them over a 4x 4 ft area more or less

they plants were greener than they had ever been and branches seed togrow as good from the bottom as they did from the

top..the plants were probably 2.5 ft tall. and no real dominant cola's

unfortunately i had to move the plants in another room so i have no flowering data

when the tents we ordered come i will do an led test with the led units i have in flower mode

also:
i have a spectrumking 440 that seems to be flowering a coulle po,a ts pretty good ..we will see in the end

i think i will put the spectrum king in the tent too

i did not know much about cobs when i had these made..

they said they were 80 w cobs..i dunno what bin or what they powered them at..i had asked for 250 w..

we will get a kilowatt and see

Hi
I found out that the company that made these two lights for me

got a small company who are hip on cobs to make them ..

infound out the specs

they are 6 x 70 w bridgelux 4000k ran at 42 w..the lens is 160 degrees[i think]

they each veg a 3 x 3 ft area very well..maybe more..i transplanted, bushy, thick stalked, 2.5 ft plants under my hps..i have not flowered under em with this highbay and may not

and yeh i am using the sk400 for veg[now]..i gotta remove the reflector, 90degree is not enough for me.
i dunno if i will flower with em again..i might..

they did make tons and tons of resin..though notnear big enough buds

update:
at my request the guy is making me 12 x 3590's 3500 k cd bin single active cooled units powered @50 w each

i just didn't have expertese or time to diy [yet]

he has alreadybuilt decent looking cob panels..albeit power pretty high..but i guess one couldn use a dimmer

i will update when/if i get them and how gtheywork and how they appear to be built.

if i lived in usa and didn 't livev elsewhere [with a crazy low dollar]

i woulda got a panel by a company on RIU

i almost bought the stuff on the diy list from one of the suppliers here too..

i may end up doing diy anyway.

yeh it was kind of a cop out..

but i just couldn't seem to get on it..the build price is pretty good..his panels are too much

dough for me and if i ever got a panel[as mentioned] i would get ot from plc, tasty, johnson or one of the other

good ones here

i just hope that the ones i amgetting done are well made..and that things turn out well.

again thanks for this forum..i

spend so much time here reading i feel its a cob cult...[but a good one]

Curious if you would say 2 220 w led panels 10x12" would be adequate coverage for a 4x4 tent thats 70" tall? My final objective is four of these lights which at 33000 lumens a piece gives me well in to 100 k range. For 880 w of total draw is this comparable to 1000 w hps

these were the first custom lights i ordered..i still have them..still use them to veg plants..each is doing basically 4 x4..i am not in a hurry though
..it maintains them well.. too..to three feet no prob..

please don't make me go back a read what i wrote..[joke

ineed to up grade the 'square' cobs..the drivers are MW so that fine

they do not shine as bright as the good chips

..if you put four in there you should have darn decent horse power..and many would say more than ye need
