Caregiver and patient here. I'm growing 4 strains right now in flower: Haze #1 (Nirvana), Cindy 99 (Clone), Maui Waui (Nirvana), and White Castle (Nirvana). This is my 3rd generation of organic bud. I've got 2 600 watt HPS and using GO nutes with molasses to finish and then flush last week or 10 days. I wanted to post a few pics and get any feedback positive or negative as far as other Mainers might be willing to give.

1st pic is the garden, 2nd is the Maui, 3rd is the Cindy 99 in early flower, 4th is White Castle with about a week or two left until harvest, 5th is Cindy with about the same until harvest, and last is Maui just begging to be harvested but the trichs are still clear and need another week or so until she's ready. Maui and Haze have been the easiest to clone and I have a 4th generation ready and waiting to flower.

Hey Kat and Welcome :-) All of the pics (IMO) look great, especially Cindy :-) With a week or two until harvest, I think you are well on your way to a bountiful harvest. Your overall garden looks great, and I can tell that you take pride in your work for you as well as your patients.

Again, I just want to welcome you to the Maine Patient sub-forum, and I look very forward to see your progress as you so wish for all of us to see.

Welcome Kat! You picked the best place to be, especially the Maine part of RIU. Everyone here is so helpful, if it wasn't for this site, my grow would be sad. Really impressed with your girls! They look quite happy! Going to have a great harvest! Again welcome to Maine RIU!

Peace!!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I do have a question for you: this my 1st C99 harvest and I wondered if anybody on here had ever grown it before and at what point did you know to harvest? Isn't the strain more of a sativa dominant? That would mean you'd want your trichs mostly milky and clear right? About 50/50, but wouldn't the indica body feel better with say 20% amber? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have run C99 and let it go to 20-30% amber to suit my preferences. However, i'm not a fan of clear trichs.

Is that the Cindy in pic #5?

No pic 5 is White Castle. Pic 6 is the C99. I just checked her tonight and I'd say she is 50/50 clear and milky but not amber yet. I think I'll give her at least a few more days Le even a week. I'd like to flush her once more; last feeding was with molasses and water.

#5 does not look like the C99 i have run. That C99 produces buds with broad flat tops like that shown in pic #5 vs. the more spear shaped bud in #6. I could probably find out the breeder for the C99 i have access to (i don't have the mum, my friend does but he got the strain secondhand).

I asked my original caregiver who passed me the clone for the c99 and he "assured me" that it is c99. Although it appears to me more like an indica dominant. I have compared some c99 hybrids online and the two that look the most similar to my pheno are "sin diesel" and "angel fuck" both featured on attitude's website. He assured me that it is straight c99 but I'm growing it until there's at least 30-50percent amber trichs to take advantage of the indica traits. What are your thoughts?

The C99 i'm familiar with has small narrow bladed leaves that in no way remind me of indica. The flowers produce a racy high that, in my experience, is not really altered by letting the trichs go amber. What does the plant smells like? The stuff i have grown has a over-ripe (almost rotting) pineapple smell.

That's exactly what it smells like. My wife says it smells like a "pineapple up a skunks ass". I laugh because anything I grow smells like "it came out of a skunks ass". LOL. Anyway my friend swears it's c99 and maybe it is but the leaves are broad not narrow and the buds remind me much more of an indica. Also, I had a sample of this same cloned strain that I gave one of my patients. He didn't experience any of the raciness or paranoia that I've heard goes along with this kind of trippy strain. That's why I wonder if it is some kind of c99 hybrid, i.e. sin diesel or angel fuck or maybe something similar that has some indica breeding.

word. bunches of pheno's and bunches of people who worked the c99 strain. I think when finding "the strain" its also about finding that right pheno too. for example, i know this was a mosca c99 no questions but the 10 pack i popped did not have the pheno i wanted, so she is out of the stable. maybe another mosca pack in the future (but frankly i am looking at mosca's OTM or GGG's OG stomper)

peace

The cannabis industry is based on piracy. Any strain that gains name recognition will probably be copied by other breeders, frequently without using any genes from the plant being copied. That's why i genially ask who the breeder is when i discuss strains with people.
