Curing questions

I have been curing my bud for about 3 days now. It still has a just harvested kind of smell but its barely there, but if i break up on of my tiny peices of bud it smells so dank, like high quality skunky fruit, but when i smoke it, it still does not have the nug taste that stays in your mouth. Is this part still to come and is the dank smell going to be what my bud smells like? I understand that it takes a few weeks to cure properly or longer but im trying to learn when different things happen while curing.

did you trim it wet? I allways trim it dry then your plants never go through that just harvested fresh smell. you can still jar it its just ready to go

Yeah i did it when they were harvested becauase i seen that it was easier to trim when they were fresh. But i did notice something strange with a few of the buds that i cut off and never trimmed because they were just too small. But i picked one up the other day and smelled it and it smelled super dank.

When i smell the buds now its not much of a smell, just a little green but not like when it was first drying, but if i squeeze it then a beautiful aroma escapes the buds like it should taste incredible but it still doesnt. Its not gross like it is if its quick dried and its pretty smooth but i really want that taste to come out. I am def about potency but along with that i love a quality taste and aroma to me buds.

if you just hang them up cut the big fan leaves off let it hang for 6 days then start trimming
i was gonna hang dry for 6 days and do it until the stem snapped but didnt break but my buds are not realy dense and were starting to crisp so i jarred them after 2 days. But i promise they were def dry enough for jars. If they gets too dry like they were about to curing would do nothing. I do burp them and check them more than once a day to make sure they dont mold or anything. I say they were not dense but for a sativa i guess they were.

Also will it help to go back and try to get the little leaves off now that the buds have shrunk and i have better access to them because i know that the more leaves the harsher the bud but these are so small that i dont know if it would really make much of a difference. It also adds nice coloration in the buds so i dont know what to do there

if your going to sell it trim it nice and tight. If your ging to smoke it i would leave a little .
on the pics i just posted you can see some of the bigger leaves and those are not to pretty so i think i will get rid of those and just leave the little tiny ones because i dont think it should affect the taste too much. I have seen buds before that friends have grown and they dont trim at all and it looks so shitty. Not a good taste either

Any suggestions on a good indica strain. ive looked at some seedbanks but i dont want to go by what the company says about the bud. and also curious about investing in led setup. will they grow as dense as they would under hps

nice plant dude. awesome first grow! i understand your wanting to smoke as soon as it possibly seems dry enough, but there is still looots of moisture in the centre of the bud that needs to even out. give you buds a day or 2 more of open air, then toss them in jars and open them up for a sniff every day or 2 for a week. the moisture level in your buds should now be pretty even and dry throughout.
if after the first time you open your jar, you find you buds are still pretty dank and really green tasting, let them dry in open air for another day or so then toss them back in the jar for open curing. after this roughly 2 week process, you can store your bud in jars indefinitely without worrying about mould or rot. hope that helps.
