walmart sells a small Thermometer/RH% for like 7 or 8 bucks its small enough to fit in a large glass jar (not the pints) and it mesures the rh% in the jar so you know if it ever gets to high you need to burp the jar and let it breathe
Hey just wondering is burping the jar to control the humidity? So if I were to cure in the driest place possible I would never have to open and this would give me the best cure? I never understood the point of burping I thought it was to just let the buds breath?

I'm no expert, but burping releases the built up moisture in the jar. As the bud cures in the jar, the moisture travels from the bud to the air. When it does this the RH on the hygrometer rises. When you burp it, the rh inside the jar BC the same as it is in the atmosphere (or your room or whatever, which will be lower) and then you put it back in there and see how high it rises again.

And yeah, just putting the bud in the driest place you know will not give it a perfect cure, BC what will happen is that it will keep getting dryer and dryer until it goes below the threshold that you want it at, and then keep getting dryer and going below that, until its completely dry and brittle.
