Hey whats up RIU? My brother and I have 40 plants going rite now and want to know what are some good efficient ways of curing more than just a simple harvest. Of course jars are probably not practical for something like this. Anybody stop by and let me know whats up!! Haze

you guys are in for hella trimming. i would dry them and then put them in several (thick) PVC plastic bags. squeeze the air out and then fold the excess part of the bag under. then put it in clean 5 gallon buckets with a screw on lids. the lid makes the bucket air tight, which is the same result as the lid on a jar. but remember to burp them the same as you would if they were in jars. open the bag as well as the bucket to burp them. also keep an extra bag to be able to switch the produce to a different bag to re-arrange the buds' positions every 3 days for the first 2 weeks. give it a gentle bounce to replace the air btween the buds. good luck.

no!, but i know an old hippie grower that does. he grows outdoors, and cures with this method. it is some of the best outdoor buds i have ever smoked.

burp 2-3 times a day for the first week, 1-2 times a day for the second week, and maybe just once a day for the third week. typically the same way you would if you had them in mason jars. but remember to switch the produce to a different bag to re-arrange the buds' positions every 3 days for the first 2 weeks. give it a gentle bounce to replace the air btween the buds. good luck. burp them on a daily basis, but switch bags every 3 days. hope this helps

I don't know about keeping it in plastic bags AND inside a bucket. Sounds like a horrible case of mold just waiting to happen. The buds need air, which they will not get inside a bag.

Ok first trim one by one. Get a coat hanger and hang then upside down. Keep a fan in the room but not directly on the plants. Keep them in total darkness as light is bad for your buds! Then 48 hours later take them out and cut the buds off One by One and put in a box or something while your doing it.Then take all your bud and sweat them for 6 hours in a black garbage bag. Then take your bud and put on a screen with a fan under neath it or in the same room. I use a home made screen using 1/4inch chicken wire and 1x1 wood. It acts as a chease grater and leaves your buds with no leaves at all. Make sure you save the stuff on the ground for hash, oil, butter making. There is alot of thc in it. If you still want to cure it for a month or so. Grab a tupperware and put it in your freezer. No air in there! If you cant do that just keep it in the tupperware or freezer zip lock. Open it once a day for 30 minutes and give it a stir. MAKE SURE YOUR BUD IS COMPLETLY DRY BEFORE PUTTING IN THE TUPPERWARE

not everyone here grows "mad crops"

your question has been answered already with a couple diffrant methodes personally if it wer me i would not sweat the buds for 6 hr. in a bag and i would not use bags at all... hang for 7-10 days and right in a rubber maid or 5 gal bucket or evan paper grocery bags would work in a pinch just open em every day and fluff up and mix around, might be handy to have an extra container so you can just open it and dump it in the extra to mix and fluff it up and get some air on it. watch, feel for moisture, if to wet leave open for awhile... good luck with your mad crops

lol you know you can get like 5gallon mason jars.... just a thought..... im pretty sure 20 of those would cover what ever you want and it would make the burping process go by better

I have to agree here, the bags being pvc?!?! I mean no offense but this seems like a bad idea, all mold problems aside, pvc has a pretty heavy chem plastic smell to it that might affect the bud. Ive seen some video of Arjan from serious seeds putting all the bud he grew in large rubbermaid containers, saying it gets cured that way for 4 to 5 months before being distributed to local coffee shops. Hope that helps.

Indeed it does, If only steered away from the plastic containers cause Ive heard of it giving the buds just a hint of plastic flavor or smell whatever. Do you know of any drawbacks to the plastic.
