Curing in Clay Urns?

Hey Rollitup,

I went to the dispensary the other day and picked up a strain that the budtender stated was cured in a Chinese/Spanish clay urn for a month. I was thinking and I concluded this style would work very well, since I would assume the clay would extract moisture from the buds.

What do you guys think? Do you think it would work?

any insight is great!

It should work just fine.... the only downside is if the inside surface is not completely smooth. That's why glass is preferred.... it usually doesn't knock the trichs off.

Could curing like this improve the taste, smoothness, etc..?
Do you think the clay would have any benefit to the quality of the bud?

I don't think so.... glass is taste neutral... is clay? I honestly don't know. Clay would be a nice cool dark place....which would be conducive for curing purposes.

Maybe try one urn only ... to test it.

Maybe someone will come on that has used clay... (fingers crossed)

Yeah! I'm really curious about it, theoretically it should work great.

Just fill it up nicely....don't let it have too much air inside....just a little.

You will still need to burp it.

As a resident art dork. Clay pots will work wonders, however, you would not want to keep them in there permanently. Clay will suck moisture until none is left.

thanks my man! I plan only only keeping the buds in the clay urn only until they are the perfect dryness, then I will move then to air sealed glass mason jars

thanks everyone
