How to cure 19lbs.?

The question here is has anyone ever tried to use 5 gallon buckets with the lid (that seals air tight) to cure after fan drying?
I really don't see a problem with this.

WHAT I WOULD Do.
-Hang dry buds with fan and dehumid (keeping it down to 45% humidity) for 4-6 days
-after. fill the 5 gallon buckets up about 3/4 of the way and put the lid on.
- burping and rotating the buds in the bucket 3 times a day (repeat for 2 weeks)

I'm doing that, not that I have as many pounds as you though. The drying time will vary with humidity of course, so I just go by when the stems snap or at least the smaller ones rather than all just bending, then it's ready to go into curing jars. Glass is better for long term and I try to avoid keeping it in plastic because it can pick up trace chemicals or tastes/smells if any exist in the plastic or it's manufacture but it seems ok for curing.

your idea sounds good, i'd take a trash bag and pour out each bucket in the bag one at a time. fluff it around and then pour it back in the bucket. like you said, i'd to it several times a day.. at least in the beginning. maybe once or twice after a week or two once all the moisture has worked it's way out of the buds. I don't see a problem with plastic buckets, a lot of people use tupperware and rubbermaid for high yield because it's hard to deal with that much glass let alone find large enough containers. just try to get buckets that seal nicely. I wish i had your problem haha, 19 lbs is a hefty yield!

My "friends" use the commercial 5 gal white plastic buckets for curing. They also use an old chest freezer. I've only done it in glass myself though. It takes me about 4 hours to manicure a pound. Your hands would be like claws after a week on the scissors.

Try using a pair of "Pinking Shears" or spring loaded scissors. Pinking shears are good for trimming off bud leaf but hairdressing scissors are the best for getting into the buds to trim off the fan leaf stalks. You can also get a leaf remover but it knocks too many hairs off in the process.

do you really have to trim of the smaller leaves, cause i heard they have some bit of THC in them. the stalks leaves should leave.

I find that leaving the small bud leaves on gives the buds a "planty" taste. I usually trim the fan leaves off and bin them first then go back through and trim all the bud leaves off to make hash. I guess it all depends on if you are after "bag appeal" or just growing for personal use.

Someone smart enough to grow that amount should be smart enough not to show it, so either way he's doomed to be considered a liar by some.

The trichs stick to the plastic due to its static charge. Glass is ideal but in your case not practical.

You could always use a large aquarium but it would suck trying to find a decent air tight lid for it.
