Fellas I cut down my plants about 2 weeks ago and trimmed them up wet and after about 3,days in my closet they were super dry. I had the fans in the bottom of the closet prob little to much air. So then I started curing after few days of hay smell i got that out of the way still small stints of hay on bigger buds. The buds no longer super dry they seem good just want that danky dank smell lol. Should i try to redry them on the rack then cure again or what?? Or just bee happy its not completely hay smelling.

How did you grow them? You ain't gonna get dank out of modern backyard breeder genetics without growing in rich living soil.

Was my first grow on my own, fully indoor at optimal conditions, grown from seeds from Seedmans and local banks. Grown in soil recipe 420 fed great nutrients. No bugs or pest or mold.

3 day dry ? ... reason you have hay smell .
whats the RH in jar?
In the jar for prob 10 days now and the jar numbers been 65temp 55rh. Each strain has its different scents as expected but i wasnt sure if tht first 3,4 days of drying set me bsck major or its normal when wet trim to have hay smell/ grassy.

At 55% your pretty much out of the cure zone. Your buds dried too fast and there isnt going to be a way to get a good smell into them. If you cant make the drying room more humid, then don't wet trim. Itll help keep some moisture in longer. I personally dry trim and whole plant hang for 14 days in 60% humidity 60-68° f

I live in Colorado and it’s dry as fuck here. Unless you take the tine to setup and curing room you gotta be smart in how you hang your buds.

Personally, I hang my harvest 3-4 days but with just one fan on in the room. Once my buds are dry to the touch, I tup them up in the big yellow topped blacks tups. There is still moisture in the stems so I burp the tups constantly until I trim them up. This works every time for me. There is a lot of plant matter hanging in the room and that probably impact the results.

Back when I lived in more a humid climate I whole hung my stuff for two weeks.

I think I was doing twice the first week then went to once a day. I believe the problem I made for myself was wet trimming seemed like a mistake for smell and potent
Im in south west ontario. Super humid.
55-67%RH. Just keep getting the wet grass smell.RH in the jar is 55-60% RH. Can any one tell me if i keep burping and stuff should the smell level out? Plant wasnt harvested early, grow conditions were great. I keep running into this curing stage and messing it up. Other times i let it dry out too fast for curing to take place. This time seems sufficient natural RH to have the curing take place. Am i on the rite path? Wet grass smell will go away as cure happens. Or is it too dry already?

Hmm constantly is probably a strong word. Directly after I tup things up I burp quite a bit. Might even leave them open for an hour or so based on how much they wet up after I tup them. Basically, I finish drying them in the tups. After they crisp up I slow down to twice a day, when I get up for work and when I get home. Obviously you want to stay on top of shit and each tup is a different situation.

For my sitch, this gives me the best results. It seems that the difference of a few hours here in Colorado can be the difference between dank and super crisp kinda dank.

Great stuff! Appreciate it! Cuz i feel after first tuping them in my sitch they need like every 3-4 hr burping for say 2 days about. Give or take on the tup. I learned the hard way in the beginning and the wet smell seeped in cuz i didnt burp enuff. Question. Does that smell happen no matter wat and its up to us to keep burping that smell out, and eventually it settles into the dank smell we love? Is this the “cure?” Or is it never supposed to get a green type smell?
